That’s what I was wondering…didn’t they record make, model and serial number of each gun, and the address it came from? Sounds logical to me.

I remember that movie…saw it at the drive-in, in my pajamas, in my dads 1960 Chevy station wagon.

I agree. The way I see it, These “scandels” are the birth pains of the fundamental changes being
implemented. Our freedoms are at stake, possibly our very lives. JMHO

My father was an avid hunter. Every animal he shot was on my dinner plate soon after. He had 2 rules he drilled into me since I was a boy…never, ever point a gun at anyone, and if you kill it, you eat it.

What I see in this painting is the federal gov’nt ( played by old man begging) asking hard working, law abiding citizen ( played by young man with gun) to give up more of his freedoms( played by pot of gold)
However, if the young man were to give up his gun, the old man would stand up and beat the young man with his cane and take all the gold. The moral of the story being told by this painting….keep your gun and you get to keep your gold. JMHO

Doesn’t the rain that falls on a roof drain off the roof or into a gutter that dumps it on the ground? Also, after a storm, the rain that doesn’t run off the driveway, evaporates. How can that be measured.
How about the state and federal roadways, aren’t they just one big driveway?
Why not tax us for the half ton of carbon we each expel every year as we breathe.
I’m all for being concerned about the environment. I know, lets start using thatched roofs and dirt roads again.

When are they going to start looking for the criminals with guns that, on a daily basis, shoot, rob, and rape. It shouldn’t be too hard to find them. You know, the ones that won’t obey any of these new “laws”, and will still go on doing what they do.

“Cops in the NYPD’s Real Time Crime Center are using high-tech methods to first track down the individuals”.
possibly face recognition technology. Maybe a test. My concern is who is determining the meaning of “mentally ill”, and where does it end.
Scientific skepticism and conservative thought have already been said to be signs of mental illness. I'm not joking.
Advection - I know. That's why I've been telling everyone I know to be wary of this line of thinking.
The police don't determine, the courts do. they may scoop up individuals who avoid court ordered treatment. Same as parolees.

Sorry if this came up already. I was thinking about the voting machines that were being used for early voting. I havn’t heard if they were removed to a safe place before storm hit, or were possibly damaged. If they were moved, where to? If damaged, can votes still be pulled from them? Just wondering.

I heard Gov. Cristie applaud Pres. Obamas efforts to help him in getting relief for NJ. During times like this, we need to take our political hats off and get busy with the task at hand. All I see from this put down of Mitts sincere attempts at helping is “politicizing” this tragedy. These msnbc people have no class!

P.S….no excuse for the rough treatment of this woman…makes me sick.

I see where it says she dropped it on the floor…meaning it was in her hand, I assume. That could explain the police reacting the way they did. The flip side of that coin is, she was in her home with a legal weopon and assumed the police, of all people, would uphold her rights.
My two boys and me have CWP in Ga. I am constantly telling them that if you get pulled over with your gun in car, the first thing out of your mouth when they approach is “I have a weopon in the car and a permit.” I know a few people that have been in this situation. the officer takes gun to check serial number, then returns it. No fuss, no muss. But then again, this is Ga, a fairly gun friendly state.
P.S....no excuse for the rough treatment of this woman...makes me sick.
Yes, did you notice how it was in her hand? She held it not on the grip with finger near trigger, but non-threateningly across the barrel. It dropped to the floor when they yelled at her and threatened her to drop it - to which she shouted it isn't even loaded. As soon as she dropped it, they tackled her. That's how you take down a drug king-pin, not some helpless old lady who didn't even ask you to come to her home, let alone want you inside. She never threatened anyone, and dropping the weapon was their idea, not hers.
Oh, and they were not there to check her permit. The were there for the purpose of making her confiscate her lawfully owned gun on the premise of securing the area during a disaster emergency where guns COULD be used during lawlessness. They wanted her to leave her home where she was self sufficient, had plenty of supplies, and could take care of herself, and they wanted her to leave and go to some shelter, during which some hoodlum would ransack her abandoned home. She had done nothing wrong.
fiveisenough - as to volunteering firearm possession to LE when interacting with them - i used to practice the same as you advise - to inform them. There's no requirement to and it just leads to them humiliating you. I volunteered i was carrying (with a CCP) at a DUI checkpoint - i was pulled out of the truck, 7-8 officers went thru my vehicle, toolboxes, you name it while i was frisked and forced to stand with my hands on the hood of the vehicle - the officer i had volunteered the info to, leaned into my face and i realized he had vodka/gin on his breath. Screw the cops - they've gotten worse than what they chase, with their arrogance

I don’t see where this is a game changer for me. Sounds like a case of a greedy, bitter woman that can’t get her claws on more of her ex’s money. And, by the way…no one died!
