Sorry if that doesn't fit the "image" that church should be - but God commands church pastors to preach His Gospel. Period.
He didn't say a thing about cookies, candies, rock and roll music nor lit'l plays/skits and massive light shows.
If you are looking for a "church" like that, you're in luck - they are a dime a dozen here in these last days.

I never attended until about 6 years ago… then something happened and now I’m very involved in service to the church. Not all churches are the same. If you are a believer you owe it to yourself to find a church you agree with. Yes, Jesus walked with the sinners, changing them one by one into reflections of him. The sinners became believers and followed Jesus and his teachings. That’s what the church is… its the branch that can draw you closer. We’re all sinners but the closer you follow, the less you’ll sin and the better you’ll feel.
It’s important to find a church, but please remember, we are to conform our lives to Christ, that doesn’t necessarily mean finding a church we agree with. It means seeking the Whole Truth and following where that leads you…
You should find a fellowship where you will have other believers who share common beliefs, will hold you accountable (and vice versa), and encourage you in your walk with the Savior.

Yes, douchebag… you might want to reconsider saying extremely stupid things.

Was scratching my head on this too Monk. My guess, tool/distraction. The invasion on the south border is significant. Heck, every bone-headed move this administration does is significant.

I don’t blame her for walking out. Those two women on the either end of that table were trying to make their obviously conservative co-hosts look bad. So much for team work. Sorry to say it was the girls on the pro-gay side of the argument that wound up looking like bullies! Women like that make me want to hurl. They could have easily moved on and agreed to disagree, but they were hell bent on being right.

Next step: HOME SCHOOL! This makes me sick sick sick. It’s a school board meeting, the guy speaks up and gets arrested? Are police normally in school board meetings? Why? Are there frequent threats of violence? Why are police at the meeting?

Was he under the influence of alcohol? Either that, or momma dropped him on his head.

You really have completely misunderstood what Mr. Bundy was trying to say. He is NOT a racist… he’s old school and was trying to make a point about the similarities between the actual slavery (pre-Civil War) and being on government assistance… The difference between the two is…at least folks weren’t sitting around waiting for check…and depending on it to eat… they were productive, working and raising families. Remember my friend, what the government gives you – they can always take away. If you make your own way… you don’t have to rely on others. Working for a living is GOOD for the soul. Work gives you something to do… and if you’re real good at it… you might just start your own little company. I feel for this man. His heart is in the right place and YOU are wrong thinking.

I suppose you’re either an atheist, commie or Godless libertarian?

I have watched many episodes of 2.5 Men and have always thought, from the beginning of the show… that it was an adult comedy with no business being on prime-time television for the younger children to watch. Funny… was having a discussion with our Pastor about this very subject. If you raise your children correctly they may watch shows like this, but will recognize that sleeping around with multiples of partners, drinking non-stop and depending on others to pay your rent does not lead to joy and peace in your life. All the characters on the show encapsulate our country’s greatest threat… trying to find happiness in a bottle, in sex or in money – doesn’t work. Remember, character Charlie died from alcohol and lived his life as a lonely, rich drunk. Duh duh duh. Notice ALL the characters on the show are struggling in some way with their demons. If you allow yourself some true reflection about the show…it’s packaged as comedy but it’s very close to the truth for many. You’d think more people would get it.
My Pastor had an interesting sermon about that Sunday. His solution? Don't let your children watch them and do not turn you TV on. That is so much easier than starting a campaign.
If sleeping with multiple partners isn't fun why do I remember smiling so much and all my friends high 5'ing me?
Never understood why people think they have any business judging others for their personal choices. You want to advocate a particular stance that is fine but don't try and make people feel guilty. It justs wastes everyone's time and makes you come off as an intrusive busybody.

Interpretation of the gospel is not an exact science. Yes, there is misuse by some in Ministry, but, this particular verse? Come on. I believe interpretation is deeply personal and my interpretation is not up to you or some pompous, know-it-all Theologian. If I do not understand a passage, yes – I’ll ask my friends or Pastor to help me understand. I’ll read varying opinions. When someone tells you, a verse in the gospel means __________, with no discussion – Run. Run away from that person.
Nothing like running away from the truth...Yeah, that's what Jesus did.

I have smoked many a joint, I drank myself into oblivion trying to escape…from WHAT? I cannot recall a time while doing any of that ..where I found peace or…felt the spirit of God within me. Being present and accounted for. That’s what get’s me high. Joy is not in a joint. My joy is in the Lord.

We should all make sure that all golfers in Nebraska are aware of how bigoted this discount company is and NOT to do business with them. Golf courses and players alike should boycott NGC. This story makes my stomach turn.
Nonetheless, Sanford said she still supports the Affordable Care Act and feels “awful” Obama mentioned her in his speech.
I'm glad someone else noticed that.
This attitude is why America can't fix our own problems. We support failure to the bitter end. I hope none of you are foolish enough to believe this gets any better. The next president will be Hilary or Biden I certainly don't believe things will improve with either of them. I also don't believe anyone in the republican party has any solutions. I actually believe they're in on it and we're just getting a show like WWF wrestling . People who think the republicans actually want to repeal this are forgetting that if the republicans didn't want Obamacare they could have not voted for it the first place. It's a lot easier to not make a law than to repeal one. The republicans are just giving the progressives the distractions they need to push their agenda.

Amen. We’re not to judge. God will take care of it. I just wish they’d keep all this out of government. It has no business there. I love that Liz is running, as I’ve always thought she’d make a good Senator or more. :)

I second that. I’ve watch Gretchen for years with the makeup and REALLY prefer her without. That being said… as a natural blonde with blue eyes, it’s pretty hard to define your eyes without something. Fake lashes…ewww, but yes, a little mascara helps! Love the sayin’ ‘paint on the barn’. My worship minister (choir director at church) uses that saying a lot to the choir. :)
