She has all the same right because her ancestors were slaves? Because she is currently discriminated against in the legal, educational, or economical spheres of society? Maybe it’s because she’s a black man, like Chris Rock, and understands what the means when you are called that by a white person? Freedom of speech does grant her the right, in a legal sense, it doesn’t grant immunity from the social repercussions. She exercised her right, now she’s dealing with the responsibility of abusing that right in a social sense. It is always good to know what is legally right and what is socially right. Republicans are learning the difference now.

I am glad the Republican party is being forced to route people like you and others here. What all you old folk (not in age but in historical context) don’t realize is us young folk do not approve of this lady’s rhetoric or your acceptance and support for it. I have black friends and I do not want to bring them to a place that is complacent and congratulatory with hostility towards them. It is slow, but republicans will get back to their roots.

Lol, you’re mighty silent when faced with facts of the real world! Your response reminds me of my niece coming to grips with reality of a non-existent tooth fairy. “But I can try” she said defiantly. The Republican party is dying of its own accord. It’s time to evolve or die.

Do you know what year it is? Do you call someone a friend based on the good acts they committed as children? I know someone who defended me against a bully in primary school. Currently when he sees me, he makes remarks about me from that time insinuating negative things about me. Should I consider this person a friend based on his prior action?

I sincerely hope you understand what I am saying.

You are an idiot for thinking ANYONE is qualified to REPRESENT A GROUP OF PEOPLE. Does Bill Clinton represent all whites or is G.W.B. more qualified? Star Parker has done a horrible disservice to conservatives with this. You do not use Jim Crow and historical racism to defend gun rights. You’ve reduced the tragedy of that era to an argument over guns?! Foolish at best, intentionally disrespectful at worst. You guys are pushing me to be Libertarian!

  • Now look at this, the tenuous pact between fiscal and social conservatives unravel.

I think she is doing the right thing here. LGBT are deserving of the same respect as everyone else. There shouldn’t be barriers because their gay.

For those arguing that there is some indirect harm to society or individuals… Stop. Gay marriage doesnt ruin ‘traditional’ marriage. People will get married and divorced like usual. The moral fabric of society has been steadily destroyed by many other things, like materialism. Cupp did the right thing, she took the small government stance. Way to go S.E.

Do you recall the riot at Ole Miss because Obama got reelected? Let’s not be like the other side. Selective memory is always bad.

Should I assume that Justice Scalia recuses himself when cases dealing with laws he doesn’t agree with are presented? If your point is true for all judges, he too must be accused of activism, no? All justices’ decisions are influenced by their beliefs. Ginsburg, like Scalia, is no different. The real question is if their ruling is supported by the Constitution.

  • That it took them four years and another presidential loss to realize being an obstructionist isn’t a strategy is amazing! Well Cantor, do you actually have a plan or are you waiting for Obama to make the first move?

  • What do you mean by “get over it”? It is important that a legacy is left to guard against this or some evolved form of it happening again.
