Your heart stops just hearing it. Then you catch your breath and say a prayer. These words hit hard. You know the weight they carry.
Why does it seem as if they mean less to those in the current administration? Is it because of certain things different officials said? Because of Obama himself? Because of his decisions that make us wince? Or because, in looking at it all in its entirety, we know that he is not like us. He lacks empathy and decency. The people he surrounds himself with are not on our side. Actions say that loud and clear. They are deaf to the sound of “officer down.”
Obama’s pick for DOJ’s Civil Rights Division speaks to that deafness. The Senate later blocked the nomination but the choice itself — an advocate for an unrepentant cop killer — was a message Obama wanted sent to those who Protect and Serve. A dead fish wrapped in newspaper.
Law Enforcement Organizations (LEOs) banded together, citizens made their voice heard and Debo Adegbile was rejected, 52-47. Obama called it “a travesty” and was furious. 47 senators on the left agreed, the same senators who refused to hear testimony from Maureen Faulker, the widow of murdered police officer Daniel Faulkner. Meanwhile, his killer, former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal, became the left’s newest celebrity.
If this seems like ancient history, it is. It happened last year. Living under an oppressor affects the passage of time, as if time will never end. But it stops when we hear “officer down.”

Cops have learned/been told to ‘claim’ that they smell pot/crack/guns? and are protected for conducting an illegal search. The 4th/5th amendments are going this same way of the 1st and 2nd.
As Franklin so wisely said: Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
Local police would do well to put a stop to this type of attack on citizens before this gets out of hand and they begin shooting citizens in the back and lie about that too.
He probably did smell it. Most of the stuff that is around now days can be smelled from across the room. If the bag had been opened or the contents handled in the car, it would reek in such an enclosed space. Reminds me of a song called, "White Punks On Dope". They were acting like punks and got what they asked for. All they had to do was get out of the car.

When we get this deal done I will transfer that pesky prison on your island to you and you can then release all of the folks that live there. What a plan!
Someone on tv just said in the US it is required that 2 people be in the cockpit, so a flight attendant will go in when one of the pilots goes to the restroom.
Pilots on US carriers do have and carry a key to the cockpit. In the days of a three man cockpit the flight engineer opened the door. After 9/11 it was required that a F/A sit in the cockpit when captain or first officer left. The doors are made of the same thing armored cars..no kicking that in..they cost about one million per door! May the families of the deceased have prayers for comfort and healing at this tragic time!

Apologist-in-chief for the liberals – Juan Williams: “forget the facts; forget the evidence; I tell you the Dems are innocent.”
"lets be honest" and "the reality is" this is one of the stupidest idiots on tv. What is a democrat? Someone too stupid to know they're a communist
Can I steal that line? (I'm totally going to; I just wanted to at least be polite enough to ask first:)
He's obviously only on for entertainment value, he has an iq of about 25, how anyone can take him seriously is beyond me.

My personal favorite, trumping the clearing of Vince Foster’s office and the 9-11 documents stolen from the archives to protect her husband, is an amazing ability to parlay a $1000 investment to $100000:
“In 1978 and 1979, lawyer and First Lady of Arkansas Hillary Rodham engaged in a series of trades of cattle futures contracts. Her initial $1,000 investment had generated nearly $100,000 when she stopped trading after ten months. In 1994, after Hillary Rodham Clinton had become First Lady of the United States, the trading became the subject of considerable controversy regarding the likelihood of such a spectacular rate of return, possible conflict of interest, and allegations of disguised bribery, allegations that Clinton strongly denied. There were no official investigations of the trading and Clinton was never charged with any wrongdoing.”

Today 100% of Americans have the same opportunity in this great Republic. Some take a ride down the wrong street and take a chance that the number will slip to 0%.
Chris Johnson is a millionaire and I hope he makes it back.
Johnson was allegedly “riding around with friends” at 4:09 AM when their vehicle was subject to a drive-by shooting, killing the driver. Johnson was shot in the shoulder, and another surviving passenger was shot in the shoulder, leg, and hand. Johnson is in stable condition and should make a full recovery. Johnson was arrested two months ago when a Glock 9 mm and an FN 5.7 mm — two semiautomatic handguns — were discovered in his car. Turning 30 in September, there’s a very real chance we’ve seen the last of Johnson in the NFL.

This story is a snapshot of what is wrong with race relations today. You might try to support my ‘race cause’ but we have litmus tests. It is the early years of segregation turned on its head. President Bush loves this country and did what he thought should be done in the aftermath of 9-11, and he even quit playing golf while our heroes were dying. Our current President is half black but I judge him on his actions not on his color (not do I give him a pass because his father was black).
My grandfather times 2 came here in 1840 and fought for the Union Army as part of the ‘Irish Army’ from NY but I have nothing worth hearing because I am not a person of color.
We are all, white, black, brown or whatever, flawed but we need to celebrate what we have in common not what separates us. And, certainly not what happened in the unalterable past.
I guess there are still people who think we are kidding when we say Don't Mess with Texas...
And better not cross thru Arkansas on your way out. We handle our business in similar fashion. At least North of the AR river we do. Can't speak for the flat-landers lol

He came as a helpless baby but will return as a conqueror and “On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords.”
“that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.”
Today is the day of salvation. It is all we have…
I searched and worked to gain happiness and joy through advancing in the business world but found it in a simple prayer.
Come Lord Jesus.

The question that came to me about what appeared to take place was “Why”?
Was the officer having a bad day? Did they have a history between them before this offense?
I think most cops have the right personality to serve ‘we the people’ but some seem to have the mindset to ‘show the citizens just who is in charge’.
State and local agencies need to look for those who should not wear a badge before more problems occur.

Class act — good for you.
If the waiter was working and the back of the restaurant was not then pay the waiter for their hard work. It sounds like that is want this couple did.
I generally like to reward these deserving folks, regardless. I do this even when they might be having a bad day. The best way to encourage a server is to leave a good tip. If the next time in and the service is still poor, talke to the manager. Not everyone has the skills and motivation to be a great waiter.
Would have been much classier if they had not congratulated themselves and bragged about themselves to the world around them.
They weren't content to do a good deed just for the sake of the good deed - had to draw the praise of men.

One of those great messages that we should take to heart. I can do better…
hmmm...if it was me, i would do what i thought was right with the contents and save the bottle as an affirmation reminder that someone actually cared enough to make the effort! lets look for the good in people and situations...it is there!

He is respected and admired by many in his home state. Wish both of our Senators were like this but because of him the other Senator would not dare to act like Kay Bailey Hutchinson any more.
Go Ted. Be true to your beliefs above all… DC had still not figured how to take him.
But, because of the muck written by him in the Government press I believe he is getting through!

Isaac and Ishmael… continues on. I read the last book in the Bible and know who wins. Israel must continue. Thank God for the great leaders and determination to press on.
I'm with you, Texan, but it would seem this administration is already sending them money to buy more, and if Lurch keeps pushing for restrain from the Israelis, they will also see to it that they have a way to get them there. It's amazing how they convince liberals that they support Israel, while behind the cameras, they are on the wrong side.

There are no denominations in Christianity. There are no divisions. There is only one body in the Lord and the entrance requirements are explained in Ephesians 2:8-9.

It is a shame that his girlfriend and her father could not appeal their death penalty to someone…
