  Almost every mother has had that moment when you wonder “is my baby normal”. Your friends kids are potty trained,reading,writing…whatever, and yours isn’t. Some time passes and you learn not to measure by anyone else’s standards. I think a NY mom would freak if her kid wasn’t up to snuff in that hyper competitive world. Add p.partum anti-deppressant living and this is the result. I hope this angel heals and lives a wonderful life.

  The delusion of the unions, they still think people will be angry at the scabs. Like that lady said, they don’t know about the man mentioned, but they are pretty sure he is just trying to make a living. Hard to do when you are paying a good portion of your check to a union that is working to keep crap teachers on the job.

  I have two dogs and I think it is only right to not inflict my dogs doo on people’s private property or in the parks people play in. I also use plastic grocery bags to clean out my cat’s litter box nightly. I get these bags from the grocery store even though I also use reusable bags. Who in their right mind doesn’t use plastic to cover their meat/produce purchases? I love the reusable because I can load them up with the stuff from the “inside lanes” of the grocery store. The “outer lanes” need plastic or they will grow bacteria on the reusable. Common sense is lacking these days.

  Yup, same with all utilities. Here in NM we have such a good job conserving water, our rates will be increasing. This of course will not be factored into cost of living. We don’t really need electricity ALL the time or to bathe EVERY day. After all, many people in the world live like that and we aren’t better than them right? I will really miss living in the first world.

  Some will never believe that trans or homosexuality is anything but a choice. It is strange to me, because I can find not one person that remembers choosing their sexuality. They remember their first crush, but not the paper ballot that obvs. came before that allowing them to choose the gender of that crush. I can understand the ones that just don’t want special rights (as they see it) for the LGBT crowd, but I cannot relate at all the people that call them perverts and swear that they are living a “choice”.

  Just out front let me say that I don’t smoke MJ (nor have I), take any meds (apart from vitamins),I don’t like alcohol and don’t smoke. That said, I don’t have a problem with personal use weed but we have to acknowledge that THC effects parts of the brain that guide ambition (hence the lazy stoner stereotype) and kids are still developing their brains. Legal weed will make it as easy to get as it is now, I just worry that the science of it might get lost. Snake venom is natural and it has some uses, it also has a h*ll of a downside. I don’t want the “it is natural therefore it is good” to trump the fact is has an active chemical that reaches your brain. I am all with you when it comes to Pharma and it’s overmedication of the population.

  I was going to let this discussion spiral into the usual arguments until two of you mentioned “choosing” to be gay and pedos. When did any of you choose your sexual identity? If you believe that it is a sin, why would you care? The gay person will answer to God for his sins just like you will. Pedos are a deviation on normal sexual preferences. There are pedos that are gay,straight and opportunistic. My molester was the latter. He chose any child, boy or girl, that he could get alone. Just to let you know, I am straight and married. Now, I believe that you can’t legislate gay marriage but I support marriage for all adults and eventually states will settle this. I could care less what France does.
