There needs to be a reasonable level of accountability. The “Government” is essentially a group of individuals elected on the quality of their campaign versus their actual skill set with regards to the position obtained. A non veteran senator, from the state of ________ should not automatically become an expert in policy, domestic or foreign. We need trained persons with a vested interest, free of greed and self-interest to lead this country. If you throw bread at 2 hungry animals, they will fight over it, this is a norm in all creatures. We need leaders who can resist that instinct and serve for the greater good. To have morality enforced by a person or group which is unmoral is a farce. We need accountability from the people we select as governors, problem solved.
