You are selectively “citing” a Wikipedia entry (not a truly reliable source to begin with). Here is the entire passage: “During his time as leader of the WPP, he unsuccessfully sought both the Democratic Party’s 1984 nomination for Governor of North Carolina,[7] and the 1986 Republican Party’s nomination for a seat in the United States Senate.[8]” He also ran for Congress as an Independent in 2006.

On the surface, the charges against this kid seem ridiculous.

On another note: this article “by” Dave Urbanski is cribbed entirely from Huffington Post. Why was the HP writer not credited?

So college is a scam? Did your physician attend college? Do you think he learned anything that the average 8th grader would not already know? Would you want to be cared for by a nurse who did not attend college or hire an electrician or plumber with no training or education?

It’s ironic that many of the people who criticize education and educators, and who decry academia as “elitist” seem to have a tough time spelling simple words like “difference.” Many of us still respect the opportunity to receive education as an important part of the American dream and the foundation of American exceptionalism.

You know what’s really ghoulish? Lying about how and when your mother died in order to garner sympathy. For example — framing her accidental drowning death as a suicide. The actions of a narcissistic attention w%#$e.

Perhaps Beck should add a card expressing his regret for publicly mocking unsuspecting victims during the “Moron Trivia” segment of his radio show. Somehow that does not seem either Christian or Christ-like. Oh, and maybe a belated apology to the wife of his former friend Bruce Kelly, whom he called during his shock-jock days and taunted about her recent miscarriage. Or maybe a symbolic “Sorry, Mom” to his late mother. He lied and said she committed suicide, when she in fact drowned in a boating accident.

    Yeah, Beck. He’s a saint.

LOTUS503: “I think that anyone within the three branches of our government who knew about and signed off on this insidious attack on the American people should be removed from office and prosecuted.”

Does that include Bush, Cheney, Rice, etc? This program began under the previous administration, as part of a serious and necessary effort to defend Americans and American interests from terrorist attacks. It’s called “national defense.” It is data mining to identify communications from questionable sources. Your phone is not “tapped” — although I suspect that that might produce a few laughs.

Again — why are you Beckistanis soft on terrorism?

Pardon the typos. Unlike most professionally designed comment boards, there are no “edit” or “preview” functions here.

Motionman: “soon as Obama signed the PATRIOT ACT into law
he should have been impeached right, than and there!!

But nooo mainsteam America led by the Libs stood by silently and watched as he slowly
bit off our civil liberties in his called “War On Terror””

Ha ha haaaaaa! This is satire, right? You do know that President Bush signed the Patriot Act into law in 2001, right. Also — here’s a news flash for you “low information posters”: NSA phone data mining began under the Bush administration. And the information obtained has prevented terrorist attacks in this country.

No one is “tapping” your phone (although it would probably be good for a few laughs) or the phones of millions of others.

Why are you Beckistanis so soft on terrorists?

Thank you for posting this story. These brave and wonderful women are the essence of teaching.

THIS is what teachers do — love and protect kids, and try to help them grow into capable, successful, confident (and kind!) adults, always with the understanding that parents are the most influential and important part of this process. The overwhelming majority of us do NOT have any interest in indoctrinating kids into any particular ideology — that is a disturbing myth.

Did Mullen say that it did not apply among all faiths? Can you find evidence that she supports ant-Christian acts by Muslims or any others?

  • May 12, 2013 at 10:31am

Right. Despite the fact that she is a member of the Methodist Church and a seminary graduate.
    Project much?

Actual news outlets have photos of the suspect. You might try watching or reading the “news.”

On another note, what a strange, lonely, scary world you must live in, full of government conspiracies and imaginary boogie men. I have asked this before, but here goes again: If you hate this wonderful country so much and if you so distrust our democratically elected government, why not emigrate to someplace that better suits you?

@Richard the Lion-heart: “that’s Old Testament and Christ not only gave that law to the ‘stiff-necked’ jews, He said it was fullfilled in Him when He taught His ministry on Earth.”

So what — exactly — does Jesus say about homosexuality? Can you provide a direct quote from the NT? I know He teaches a lot about love (especially agape — compassionate love for all others), but I do not recall any passages in which Jesus (you know, He who puts the “Christ” in Christian) condemns gay men or women. Just curious. Perhaps you have a “different” edition of the Bible?

A city filed for bankruptcy because a political cartoonist drew a cartoon about an explosion in Texas? Wow. I guess you need an MBA to understand that complicate theory . . .

Although her behavior is certainly unbecoming an elected official, this is not national news. It is not being covered by national news outlets. This is a story that the Blaze and Beck publish because it resonates with the target audience — sort of a “dog whistle,”

So emigrate to a country that better suits you. We do not need America-haters here. If you hate the democratically elected government go someplace where violent overthrow is the standard for regime change.

@Protege: “Welcome trolls! We are fully aware that Soros and company want this story squashed ASAP, and we are truly honored that so many of you have stood up to volunteer to help them out with this matter.”

Yes, the world is such a wee, tiny, little place that Obama, George, Soros, Janet Napolitano, and some “troll” posters are all sitting together in a room trying to flood the National Enquirer-like site of some high school dropout conspiracy theorist with contrarian posts.

My favorite part of Beck’s “performance” is when he alerts his followers that a government website warns that **gasp** it is illegal to access the information without sufficient security clearance! I am guessing that most Blaze readers have no idea what such clearance entails. Here’s a hint — it is a little more involved than providing a picture ID after you swipe your EBT card at Wal-Mart. Furthermore — sure! Why not just open up secure files to everyone with computer access! Hell, why shouldn’t anyone in the entire BIG world, including some self-styled rodeo clown, have access to every bit of information DHS, DoD, and the Justice Department has on file.

Here’s one of my favorite old-timey quotes: “America — love it or leave it!” Seriously. If you hate this country and its democratically-elected government so much, just leave. Those of us who love this wonderful country and its people will not miss you one bit.

. . . on earth. Not surprisingly, the “character remaining” count is inaccurate.
