  • Okay, somewhat interesting story but . . . that had to be the most ANNOYING video I’ve ever forced myself to sit through. Good grief!!

  • So much for exercise.

  • Well, we all know that with their demands for “tolerance,” liberals are tolerant just so long as ALL are tolerant of what they believe should be tolerated. Even though I used to find Mr. Carrey moderately amusing, I made the choice long ago to avoid watching anything in which he’s a “star.” I guess that makes me intolerant of sheer ” irresponsible buffoonery.” So be it!

  • Obviously if the “intent” was that the mother’s “choice” was to end the life of this child (notice I did NOT indicate “unborn” child), until the mother leaves the facility she’s still in control. Yeah, that makes sense to me now. Sure – kill it; after all, being unwanted its life would be fraught with sadness and indignity anyway (another reason given to support the killing of unborn children).

  • While I agree that the helmet, what’s emblazoned upon it and any mistakes it might contain have little value in the overall situation on the planet, what irks me more is those who think that just because there are more serious matters to worry about, such frivolous things like this helmet shouldn’t be either reported or discussed.

Look, not everyone places the same value on things – that should be an axiom. So hard-core hockey fans and/or just as hard-core Star Wars fans might actually like this kind of stuff. So why not take a little time off from all the serious matters and enjoy some nonsense for a change?

  • I’ve got to ask a question that totally mystifies me. What’s with the four stars these police chiefs choose to affix upon their epaulets? Do they actually believe they are equal to a U.S. Military four-star general or admiral? Most of these guys look rather daft in their uniforms with their paunchy tummies, longish **** and overgrown mustaches. In no way are they on par with our military leaders who wear the same number of stars. Just sayin’.

By the way, Emeryville is a very small community nestled between Berkeley and Oakland very close to the onramp to the Oakland Bay Bridge. I would think one star would be appropriate if they really have to hand them out.

  • And neither yours (spelling), Mapache.

  • And LarryL2 – What if all of the nations who owe the UNITED STATES that they’ve either “forgotten” or were “forgiven” might decide it’s time to pony up – how much better off do you think we’d be if those debts were paid

I think where we run into problems is that whenever there is a disaster practically anywhere around the globe we’re the ones that they turn to for assistance; we’re the first on the scene with vital life-sustaining items.

No one nation in the history of nations has ever done so much for so many. Now it’s not like we’d take charity easily here, but I’m not suggesting that. I just know that for decades we’ve loaned money to other countries and for the majority of those debts we’ve received very little if anything at all.

I know that’s our fault for not calling in the debts. So maybe it’s about time – what say you LarryL2?

  • As a child in the 60′s in New Jersey such a front-door scene was not that unusual. I also recall the incredible snow forts we made out of that wonderful stuff that would also last for many days (if not weeks). I do recall however during my last year in high school (73/74), we had very little snow in the Delaware Valley area. Those pics sure bring back some delightful memories!

  • Actually, it’s one of a very few good stories to come out of sports in general.

I used to be a big fan of baseball – no more. Agree with me or not, but most sports now are fielded by thugs and drug abusers rather than guys who simply love the sport and abide but its rules. Heck, even a guy who rides a bicycle goes down in shame losing everything he earned because he felt the need for that extra edge over the other guy illegally.

Heroes are so very few and far between. We’ve had two wars waged over the past ten years – how many of them have been put before us as truly heroic? There have been a few Medals of Honor conferred – some even to living military members. Where are the parades?

In politics there are NO men or women of honor. While some might not think that’s all that strange, but to have none? As the reality of “ObamCare” is brought out into the light, we’re finding out just how wonderful it is that took so much dishonesty to become law. Our borders are no more secure than when the current president took office; and we know that amnesty is right around the corner.

The times they are a-changing. Indeed they are, but not for the better.
