  SEANA, I get your point, but I respectfully disagree. You said it yourself, “The mere presence of a gun on a person implies that they will fight back”. It’s the threat of offense the gun represents that deters the bad guy, they have little defensive value as a shield.

  And I agree about the open carry as a crime deterrent as apposed to concealed carry.

  Guns are offensive. They are not shields. They only way they are affective is if they are fired, which is an offensive act. That doesn’t mean the offensive act is not used for a defensive purpose.

  Guns are offensive weapons. They are not shields. The only way they are effective is when they are fired, which if an offensive act. That does not mean the offensive act cannot be for defensive purposes.
