Could You Tell Beyonce’s Inauguration Rendition of the National Anthem Was Lip-Synced? (Update: Or Was It?)

I am no fan of Beyonce and certainly not of Obama, but I am a professional audio engineer. As much as I dislike Obama and the entire inauguration celebration, I have to be fair and say that there is no way what we heard was pre-recorded. It wouldn’t have been distorted as it was. Nor is any vocalist that flawless in their synchronization to a pre-recorded track. A pre-amp in the chain was being over-driven making it difficult for Beyonce to hear herself. That is why she removed her ear-piece.
