Your partialy right, Thats why they amended the constitution the way the founders had set it up so that slavery could be done away with. Incidentaly the constitution does not sanction slavery it reserves that decisions to the states and their individual governments to decide. Thats why there were free and slave states. The only thing it accounts for slavery is in regards to the representation in the congress which is determinded by the census. Which is why the founders were brilliant enough to ensure slavery’s demise when they established the constitution with the 3/5 clause. The founders understood you can’t right all the wrongs of the world in a single day or force people to accept what they aren’t ready for, so they prepared the way to abolish it. I love how ignorant Americans always try and trot slavery out as Americas big eyesore but be that as it may America still stands ahead of the world in that under our constitution and government slavery existed for only 72 years before we abolished it. that is an accomplishment the rest of the world couldn’t achieve in 6000 years of recorded history and thats because we tried to do it the peaceful way first. All the rest of the slavery on this continent is the result of european oppression go complain to England, France, Spain, and portugal if you want to cry.

@ Zappa Rules & Molon Labe: I didn’t know gays were a race? And before you start accusing people of being close minded, Bigoted or discriminative I suggest you look at your own anti religious bigoted comments. First of all did I ever say I was against gay marriage? I believe it is morally wrong but I also hold the DOM act to be unconstitutional. My argument has been against the intolerance, thug tactics forced acceptance, and attacks on disagreeing points of view. I have gay friends and colleagues and have told them if the voice of the people elects to support gay marriage then so be it. As long as the rights of the individual to disagree or call it wrong are still defended. Which has not been the case. especially in the academic circles. I will have to challenge your comment that the facts are just being presented is a lot of bull crap. I have been a teacher sir I have seen kids for their morals have themselves and their parents publicly belittled, harrased, and persecuted not because they said gays were evil or filthy or were any way discriminative only because they still said it was morally wrong. Since when do my morals have to change to align with yours view. the intolerant one is the person who mocks somebodies beliefs and says its wrong based on his own theories of reality. Magic friend? I used to advocate some levels of evolution and still do but I find more reality in spiritual experiments I have tested hypotheses on and found true rather than one mans flawed view.

@ Harry Potter-you mean like when people say homosexuality is morally wrong or evolutionarily stagnant and the gay community retaliates by slandering, persecuting, and trying to use law and government agencies to punish you legislatively, financially and socially. Take away your rights as a private business or property owner, force you to provide service in support of a lifestyle that violates your right of concsience, disrespects their values and rights by attemtping to disrupt, bully, or harm their businesses, religious services, charitable organizations and sponsers. And on top of that indoctrinate their youth behind their backs into accepting something their parents say is wrong and then the teachers and peers undermine the values of the parents or take it out on the child? you mean that kind of harm and bullying? Maybe the gay community should start practicing tolerance before it demands it of others. The root word of tolerance is tolerate which means I may have to accept you have a right to believe what you want it does not mean I have to support accept, or endorse your choice and it doesn’t make me a bigot to disagree or oppose you.Its amazing in our current culture how everone wants respect for their view but shows little interest in extending that same courtesy to those who oppose them.

Expect nothing less from the communal ignorant hive mind who like a drone only does what he’s told is bred to be only a COG in a wheel and sponges off the rest of the colony

Sorry but your hypocritically supporting a dual standard. As a private service and charity organization that was founded on Judeo Christian values to enforce those values (see founders intent). To ask that a private organization that requires no one to be apart of to abandon their moral values as a requirment of their charitable status is the height of discrimination. It is the same as saying because your a religion or charitable organization that endorses gay marriage you can have the exemption but if you don’t then you can’t is the height of bigotry and hypocrisy. No one is forced to be a boyscout, your free to form your own youth groups if you wish. You do not have to associate in any way. Your intolerance shows through in that you want to force a group that has a century worth of community service and experience behind it to abandon their beliefs cause you disagree with them. Their charitable record and character building program( based on Judeo christian values SEE scout OATH AND LAW)is unreputable. Incidentaly Gays and atheists can be scouts no one asks as scout their belief status or sexual orientation when you join. But their the hypocrites in that they are partaking in an organization they don’t believe in. Other wise they can be a scout like any other as long as they abide by the oath and law. I oppose anyone openly violating the scout oath or law even if its a heterosexual boy not being chaste. As a scout you agree as amember to live by the code whether gay or n

Unfortunately the supreme court has already ruled in opposition to yourview because marriages are civil union on the law whether performed by religion or civil official. The constitution does not gaurantee anyone the right to marriage it has always been a civil liberty accorded to the states and to the people in that state to decide what they except and what they don’t. The supreme court has already ruled on this issue multiple times. This is why your civil rights argument is wrong. Although I think the DOM act is unconstitutional the states have the right(hence why marriage benefits are different to each state) If New york wants gay marriage then they can elect to do so the same is true for California when theysay they don’t want it. The supreme court in the past has already ruled on this issue in regards to past marriage practices it didn’t agree with. If you wish to do this legally and promote that this is a civil right an amendment to the constitution must be proposed and ratified according to the constitution because of the law the way it has been set up. Any other way is oppression by the minority to force people to support something they don’t through, taxation legal recognition etc. I would also like to pose a question If we allow gay marriage will you still allow us to say it is wrong. Forgive me if I’m skeptical because historically in regards to, speech, race, political correctness, and religion. Leftists fail to practice what they preach.

Thank you Margaret Thatcher for helping to send one cesspool of marxian garbage (Soviet Union) to the trash bin of history where it belongs. I only hope your efforts weren’t in vain because unfortunately the world is now full of useful idiots in yours and our nation who want revenge. But your efforts along with Reagan’s should be praised for all time as tribute to true freedom not Social justice corruption. Gods speed.

Wow not only does Maryland limit your ability to defend yourself with some of the strictest gun laws in the nation its offers murderers early retirement while the their victims are six feet under. Must be a new occupation in Maryland

with no respect to Patrick Leahy. You older senators have been here for decades an only shown in that time period that you can royally screw things up. Crushing debt, Recession economic levels, market downturns largely from you failure to keep yourselves in line, Lies, distortion, lobbying corruption. If I had a resume like yours in the private sector I would be fired and most likely in jail. So don’t flaunt your so called seniority in front of me it only shows more brazenly how pathetic you are at your job.

Unfortunately BoatguyUSA this email was supposed to be a private correspondence not passed to the student body. And although as teachers we like to have the most optimism and expectations for all our students, when we see the guidance counselor’s office become a russian roulette game of class change after class change because the student doesn’t like the teacher(a complaint I never had) or is failing not because of the quality of their work but the fact that they don’t do it. When the kid despite their failing grades never take advantage of oppurtunity after oppurtunity to make up work, replace it and almost have the answers given to them so they can make a “C”(and that’s being criminaly nice) to still be able to participate inschool clubs and extracurricular groups. See the coddling buy parents and political hack administrators who can make the kids feel good about themselve despite the fact they can’t read above a 3rd grade reading level or do elementary math again becaue they don’t do the work and parents call griping about the “F” they receive, What would you call it? How many times I sent out personal invitations, emails and calls to parents about student performance and the ones who never reply are the ones who need it. I would call that not to bright and I blame the parents but life has consequences to choices attitude and work ethic whether your child likes it or not.

Speaking as someone who has been a teacher I just have to say sometimes the Truth hurts doesn’t it? How many times I wanted to email parents and say, I’m sorry I can’t correct or undo 15-17 years of bad parenting in 4 months. Teenagers get over yourselves, you really aren’t all that and its time we have to say what you really are without all the sensitivity and sugar coating bullcrap. If your grades suck, you can’t read (despite the best efforts to educate you) and if you refuse to apply yourself and learn then yes your a loser, not to bright, and exactly what these teachers said about you. Part of growing up is being able to take criticism and learn from it as long as its not abuse. But when we see consecutive paterns of behavior from the same kids over and over, yes you might have a need to be told what you are.

Does anyone not realize the complete sham this is? Of course the unemployment rate went down. When the small businesses and large retailers have to provide health insurance to anyone working over 30 hours a week. This was the natural solution you cut the hours of your workers already on your roles to less than the amount required and then to make up the difference you hire more part time positions which don’t register under the unemployment numbers because now their underemployed and the workers who were working full time now are making less. This translates into only more wellfare recipients who may have been barely scraping by at full time but now will need assistance to make up the cut or find a second part time job. Watch the welfare enrolment numbers to go up in the next 3 months. What was it the democrats griped about during Bush about burger flipper jobs? Well that apparantley is the new career desired position in progressive america. Like all Marxist failure experiments the rich get richer and the middle class is disolved into poverty.

“Communism at home and abroad became the target of exaggerated fears,” wrote Lew.
Tell that to the 70 Million Mao killed even giving them numbers not names like cattle. Tell that to 6 million Ukranians who were starved to death by Stalin for political retaliation not to mention the 14 million killed in the communist take over of the country. Tell it to the Romanovs, Tell it to people publicly executed on television by Castro and Che guevera.Or the Cuban refugees I know who had communists come in and rob them of every thing they had.Tell it to the people of East Germany who were shot trying to get across the Berlin wall. Tell it to the South Koreans who were butchered by the North when they invaded. tell it to the Weather underground and SDS who planned after taking over the country to liquidate up to 25% of the population because they wouldn’t embrace communism. Marxism is an infectious disesase that has only produced human slavery and misery. Marxism in all its incarnations Communism,Socialism,National Socialist, Fascist all have one thing incommmon. The major exports of their countries are misery ,death, and slavery.

One more thing The Native american has been supported by tax dollars and government support for over 100 years. They live by their own tribal laws, Discriminate against other people not of their race as bad as any other bigot of any other race in violation of Civil rights laws, have special exemptions from state laws and PC special perks that give them segregated preference as far funding for schools, education, business regulations etc. The native american may have been wronged but the current American citizen has already payed for a whole century for this greviance when does it end and when is it enough?

  • February 5, 2013 at 5:47pm

People who talk like this native American are telling only a half truth. Unfortunately the History of the world is one large illegal immigration and conquest after another.Th epoint is the current law of the land which is considered US land (until we destroyour selves) History is not pretty. But this bullcrap of holding present generations responsible for the past is mockery te every thing we have worked hard to accomplish with the constitution and civil rights. Where does it end? If I have to give back the western US to Mexico. Tell the latinos to give Mexico back to the Aztecs, Peru to the Incas, etc. Have the Aztecs give it back to the Mayans and then the Olmecs. Have the South Africans give it back to the Zulus, Have the egyptians pay the Jews for 400 years of slavery, Have the Muslims give all of the middle east back to the Jews and christians who predated them. Where does it end? Every race and people have been oppressed one time or another. Guess what the people who did that are DEAD. After the older baby boomers are gone I don’t want to here any african american talking about the oppression of segregation. None of you lived under it once there gone and we tried correcting it with the civil rights movment. No one has been a slave since 1860 and 600,00 lives were paid in blood for it. None of you lived in the west during Santa Anna so none of you were robbed. How many native american tribal wars wiped out their enemies and tooktheir land. The past is gone move on.

I’m from Ogden/ Riverdale and have been to this store many times. This article is partially incorrect. Kelley called the local rod arquette radio talk show and KSL TV both confirmed he had notified the Riverdale police department of his actions before he went to the store. Although KSL which is an NBC affilliate reported that most of the reaction was negative that is also incorrect most of the postings and attention are supportive of his actions and his right to do so. Also most did not feel threatened. The bulk of the criticism if any is that this may not have been the best way to get acrossmhis point. His reasoning though I quite agree with. We need to get guns back as a main stay in our culture and we need to regain the maturity we once had in how they were regarded instead of letting Hollywood, nutcases and corrupt politicians and traitors to the constitution tell us how we should view our firearms. I feel safer knowing 20 people like kelley are armed in the room who can take down a madmen easily rather than everyone be unarmed except the criminal and pray the cops get there before we all have bullets in the head.

So instead of 3-30 round magazines now a killer has to bring 9-10 round magazines? Brilliant you morons. that will fix the problem nicely. now the killer has to only practice reloading. Only gun control advocates or politicians specifically leftist dems could be this stupid or asinine.
