  • My apology’s DOUGHUFFMAN for commenting on your post. My comments are addressed to Publius.
I have read the entire “Washington Farewell Address”, and no where in it does he implore the northern and the southern states to maintain slavery. I would suggest you follow your own advice and only comment on things you are certain are true. Putting your own opinion into your quotes is just what you accuse everyone who doesn’t agree with you of doing. You must be a Republican for they were the party of abolition during the War Between the States. It was the southern Democrats who were apposed to freeing the slaves. I know this is a contious statement, but sometimes we have inconvenient truths.

  • Thank you for your service Cpl. Boston, you are a true hero.
In response to poster “OIF3SURVIVOR” you have successfully displayed your inability to do proper research. Your diatribe on the meaning of the word “regulated” in 18th century definitions was seriously flawed. The Random House Collage Dictionary (1980) gives 4 definitions for the word “regulate” which were all in use in colonial America.
    1. To control or direct by rule, principle, method, etc.
    2. To adjust for some standard or requirement as for amount, degree, etc.
    3. To adjust so as to ensure accuracy of operation.
    4. To put in good order.
    [ obsolete sense ]
    b. Of troops: Properly disciplined. Obs. rare -1
From the 1690 Oxford English Dictionary, 2nd edition 1989.

If you will bother to read the Federalist Papers and look up the letters and journals of the framers of the Constitution you will learn that what was meant by the phrase, “Well – regulated” in the 2nd Amendment. They meant the citizens of this new nation were to equip themselves with the best arms available, and the ammunition for them. They were to keep them in good working order, and keep them handy for use. They were to get training in the use of firearms and practise often, in order to be ready to protect their country, community and themselves. My gun club friends are still howling with laughter at your comments.

  • I’m at a loss here, why are people amazed that after sending these “people” billions of dollars in aid and weapons, that they still hate us. This pattern happens time and again. You can’t buy friendship with extreme religious groups, but you can force respect for our ability to eradicate them.

  • Right on man, this is all they know. Send them to their “Paradise”.
