According to what this says
“After the Civil War ended, Carson said, the Supreme Court held that “[t]he Constitution, in all its provisions, looks to an indestructible Union composed of indestructible States. they cant touch the 2nd amendment. But of course they pick and choose what part of the Constitution they want to follow.

So Virginia was & is indestructible?
So how did we get West Virginia?
That's a good question:
"New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new States shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; "
Ask Jon Carson, director of the Office of Public Engagement, & he will tell you how smart he is.
Jon Carson said “[t]he Constitution, in all its provisions, looks to an indestructible Union composed of indestructible States.”
And yet we have West Virginia.
And as KidCharlemagne pointed out
“New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new States shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; ”
-U.S. Constitution, Article IV, Section 3
Conclusion: Lawyers do what they want when they want, regardless of legality or morality. They make it legal EX POST FACTO.
IF THIS WILL POST AS I'VE TRIED FOR 2 MONTHS TO POST !!
404 ERROR can BYTE ME!
Walkabout - West Virgina wasn't formed from the CW. It was done long before that. Virgina use to go west to the Pacific Ocean. It's division had to do with the mountains.
Watch The History Channel once in a while.
Some thing you asked struck a nerve when I was growing up in West Virginia Old Grandma used to tell us kids that the Virginia Commonwealth had split from the holy Union to start the civil war, but our folks stayed loyal to America and would not leave the Union, and many fought bravely in the battles to keep our country like a family together again. So we are a state of the union, not a commonwealth.
But after the war was all at an end, the Virginians were so angry they lost they never agreed or such to reunite under one elected governor with us because they were afraid of carpetbaggers, and we are today a commonwealth there and a state here but part of the strong and brave U-S of A for sure together again, that's all I want to say.
Ironic that an alleged "War against slavery" admitted West Virginia as a slave state - AFTER THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION.
My Granny told me that Unionists were rapacious bastards, that nothing about them was remotely American, and that their legacy would be the final destruction of both the Constitution and any Republic it ever formed.
Gee, when I look at the blue vs. red states - I see that Granny was right. Care to argue with that?
I have a very bad feeling we're seeing history perfectly repeat itself. To side with Lincoln, according to this "response" is to side with Obama and your favorite fascist Neo-Conservative. "Don't mess with our base of graft and corruption, or we'll kill you" - that's what Lincoln said (and did), and what Obama is saying (and will do).
Little has changed since 1861. Its the same argument as then, no matter how hard court historians ingratiated to the Gov have tried to brainwash it away. I do find it ironic that Old Va has been inundated with DC suburbanites working for the Gov they belong to and turned blue, while West Va has seen the light and has been largely treated just as maliciously since the war of 1861 as the rest of the south. Regardless of Unionist loyalty in 1863, WV still regarded as southern trash by the progressives and the Government. Have you heard what O'Reilly thinks of Appalachains?
Might want to re-examine what's really "American" and what's not.

What good is a gun when you cannot buy the ammo? Thats what he will end up going for. You might be able to buy some for hunting but they will either come with a high tax or you will only be able to buy a certain amount per year and then you will most likely have to turn in your shell casings much like the old glass soda bottles.

I will admit that I do not know much about the Islamic faith but what I do understand is that a TRUE believer’s main focus in life is to kill all non believers. So with that being said How can there be so many people who claim to be a muslim be walking around when they have not killed any infidels? Can you imagine a non believer walking up to to two followers asking one if he his a true believer ,him saying yes the non believer telling him he is a Christian then turning to the other believer asking him if he is a true follower him saying yes. Then the Christian asking the second one why he is not killing his friend because he is not a real true believer since the first one did not kill you the infidel. Or am I totally missing something?
