  • Mr. Ong I thank you for your heart felt words, and truth. You sir are the kind of immigrant that we in this country are proud to have and you show your love of this country, our freedom and what we stand for. It is sad that so many other Americans do not have the knowledge that you do about the Constitution and Bill of Rights. How easily we take all that for granted and my only hope is that maybe your words will inspire others to get their heads out of the sand and learn to appreciate what we really have here and learn to fight to keep it. I wish you and your family all the best.

  • Larry,
They are not automatic weapons, if you are going to make such statements, you should make sure that you know what you are talking about. The ARs are NOT automatic – they are semi-automatic and there is a big difference. Once again fully automatics (what the military uses) can be operated in fully automatic or semi-automatic mode; when in full-auto the operator can hold the trigger in and the gun will continue firing till you let off the trigger. A semi-automatic is 1 bullet for 1 trigger pull. The main difference between the semi-automatic and a bolt action rifle is that with a semi-autos the bullet is pushed into the chamber without having to use a the bolt action. This gun was not used at Newtown and In the theater shooting it jammed after a few shot; he did most of the damage with the other guns. Any cop will tell you ARs are rarely ever used in crimes.

  • Wow! Someone who understands what it’s all about. You know my son is a Junior in High School and I noticed his American HIstory book laying on the floor so I decided to pick it up and check it out. Well the first thing I did was go to the section on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to read what it said. Well let me tell you I was pissed and will be raising hell Monday. It gives the regular verbage on the Second Amendment and has side bar notes telling students what it means and here is what it said “Each state has the right to maintain a malitia; an armed force for it’s own protection – Today the National Guard. The National Government and States can and do regulate the private possesion and use of firearms”. What the “H” No wonder we end of with all these people who have screwed up ideas about the Constitution and our rights.

  • DogWater have you ever shot a semi-automatic rifle, handgun, shot gun, any gun? My guess is prob not because you seem to not know anything about them. The AR is a “sport” rifle and there is very little difference between them and the typical hunting rifle. The both require 1 trigger pull for 1 bullet shot. They are not “military” or “assult” weapons and they do not operate like the guns the military uses. Just because they have a few cosmetic features that make them look similar to guns the military uses does not mean they operate the same or have the same fire power. What you and others seem to have a hard time understanding is that what Reed did was wrong, those guns are not illegal and there is no reason they cannot be at the show. Why are you such a feable person that you are ok with people taking any freedom from you whether you choose to avail yourself of that paticular freedom or not. Would you be ok with someone telling you that the First Amendment is restricted and you could never say anything bad about a government official or maybe that the cops can just enter and search your house with no reason? If you are of such a weak nature that these big bad ARs scare you I would suggest that you not attend or go anywhere near any gun – for what it is worth pretty much the entire show is hunting.firearms related. They have very little fishing stuff anymore and a few RVs – pretty much the entire client base is strong gun owning Second Amendment Loving good peop

  • For everyone in PA, Rep Metclaf has proposed a Bill (House Bill 357) that is similar to what other states are passing to block any federal bans from being enforced in the state. Check it out and let themknow yo want it passed.

  • Gyro, I think you miss understood. I live in PA and have gone to this shw for over 20 years and I helped call vendors about what the show did and letting them know about the boycott. This website was created by a great group of people who wanted to give the vendors who had decided to boycott the show in support of the Second Amendment a place to sell their goods to recoup money they were giving up. You have to understand when this movement was started to boycott the show, many of the vendors had already paid thousands of dollars (some close to $20,000) for their booths; money at the time Reed was refusing to refund but vendors still chose to boycott many of whom didn’t even sell guns. Many are small businesses that this one show is a huge source of income. This was a huge accomplishment and I ask that you check out the site an support those business; they had the courage to take a stand even when it was going to cost them a lot of money. I am not a vendor and only got involved because I am tired of our righs being stepped on, we all really can make a difference so get involved. Also Reed said in their Statement that it “was a small number affected” well right before they announced postponing there was 350 who dropped out and was rapidly growing.
