Soy – I’ll grant you that the soldier cited his service to add weight to his point, and that his service applied to things other than immediate defense of the homeland if you’ll grant me the fact that his actual point was totally valid.

I’ll grant you that he abused his service record to add credibility to his point and that the action he saw dealt with things other than an immediate threat to the homeland, if you’ll grant me that his actual point is no less credible because of it.

McDonalds being a taxpayer does not render it an agent of the state. It’s actions have no bearing on protecting religion from state bias. Where it may be a little sticky here is the courts assigning monetary value to having one’s religious sensibilities offended. Forget it though, if a precedent for the amount has been set in a previous secular case or the court was following a guideline.

If McDonald’s was doing this due to this silly urge we self loathing whiteys have not to upset the darker people, I would agree with you. But I’m betting their motivation is economic, in which case I’d say Venditor Caveat (seller beware). The real tragedy here would be if the abovementioned self loathing played a part in the trial and sentencing.

You know, I like the idea of telling Muslims to speed up their trip to hell as much as the next guy, but if Micky-D wants to advertise that a ju-ju stick has been waved over the chicken carcass to get the Muslim business, then they have to abide by the same advertising rules as everyone else. That being said, I’d be willing to bet that lighter-skinned religious folk wouldn’t get the same “justice” from the stupid “white guilt” fools that have permeated the court system.
