  I could only stomach the last few awards and then was just disgusted with the Hollywood kowtowers allowing this shameful politicization. How can I effect this liberal/progressive/socialist pool of nincompoops? Ignoring the theater, refusing to give my money to the Hollywood hyped “blockbusters”, patronizing conservatives who make and produce and star in films (Kevin Sorbo/Abel’s Field), and doing pay-per-view. Yes, they’ll get some of the money, but that little effort of staying away from the cinema will at least make me feel better. Maybe even a letter or two, though I doubt it will make even the slightest ripple in their conscience.

  I hear and read of young people in his age range, perhaps a little older and a little yonger, disparaging the Baby Boomers and The “Greatest Generation” quite often. I know that what he says certainly doesn’t represent everyone of his generation, but it is a fact that the “Me ” generation have much to learn from their elders. Sadly, I don’t think they can oversome the denial.

  By the way, I wonder if he has any understanding that HE is a customer to someone else. You say his criticism is harmless? No customers heard him disparaging them? I say that his attitude is indicative of a selfish, self-centered mindset and it is a cancer that will poison others, leading to a breakdown of the social contract that we all have with one another.

  I don’t find this an “amusing” interview. It’s a very serious issue and Piers Morgan’s uninformed attitude should be dealt with in a serious way. Colbert is a smart guy, uses his pulpit carelessly, and shouldn’t be talking about “pumpng up” ratings on false pretenses. The interview is only useful for demonstrating the laissez faire attitude many on the left would have us buy into about important and nation-changing issues.
