  I used to be on the management team at a Wal-Mart store. Don’t think for a second that this was a mistake or that anyone is even remotely “sorry.” Corporate and government officials “apologizing” is just bull crap.

  I’m a little concerned at the failure to “do your own homework” on this one. As a Christian institutional and former military chaplain there’s some things we need to keep in mind.
  1. Entire religions are not bad, though many of a particular religion’s adherents may use their religious fervor for destructive or political ends. Look at political motivations as they are informed by political and cultural forces as understood by individuals.

  2. Jumah simply means “Friday” when transliterated from Arabic the name of the day is “Yawm Al Jumu’ah .simply means “The Day Jumu’ah.” In American English we would day “The day is Friday.”

  3. While Muslims pray 5 times every day they do so as a community on Friday, so having a communal Jumah prayer service would be similar to Christians offering a Sunday preaching and worship service.

  We can all certainly not agree with a theological system just as we can disagree with a political system, but I hope Americans could rise above.

  Just another example of how our society can only see the collective rather than the individual. I suppose I should be careful when I’m riding my motorcycle. Maybe I’ll be seen as a criminal too.

  Sounds like this kid should have been tried for assault on a 3 year old. This sentence should be years, not months, and the **** will grow back. Hopefully the trauma she now shares with her victim wont.

  There is a significant Communist presence within the American Catholic organization. Check out things like Catholic Worker House as an example. I think these Sisters are probably part of that well meaning communist faction.

  Wow. If Glenn is so same-old, same-old and as irrelevant as some of the posts seem to indicate I wonder why they feel so threatened that they go into attack mode on a site they can choose not to visit. I think maybe he’s not as wrong or irrelevant as they claim.
