  • Wait just a minute – As explained by the all wise economist John Maynard Keynes using his famous “broken window” example Hurricane Sandy is good for the economy because it forces economic activity to fix the damage. Keynes also preached government spending stimulus to grow an economy and is therefore much favored by politicians. The less popular Freidrich Hayek pointed out the fallacy of the broken window and the effectiveness of government spending and railed agiant free market with individuals free to make their own decisions without government interference as the best way to promote economic growth. As you can imagine Hayek is not popular with politicians….

  • Why do they list the total worth of the Romney donors but not the Obama Donors…..methinks they are trying to send a subtle message that Romney donors are really rich – and maybe avoid the message that Obama donors are proportionally stingier.

  • This story is incomplete – it should identify all the particular counties and which party is in control there. The state map makes it look like both Reps and Dems have this problem – but dollars to doughnuts if you look at the specific counties I bet you will find even in Republican leaning states it is exclusively counties containing Democrat controlled cities that have the extra voter registrations. LaSalle with 530% – sheesh – that means there can be 4.3 fraud votes for every legitimate vote….how can any election there be considered valid….

  • There is no need to teach “creationism” as such. All that is needed is to have a balanced presentation of interpretation of the evidence. The current curriculum is controlled by the evolution nazis and all discussion of anything that might cause doubt of evolution is censored. There should be mention of volcanic rocks in Hawaii that are less than 100 years old but radio date at millions of years followed by discussion of what could be interfering with the ‘atomic clock’. Mutations and genetic information should be discussed along with information theory and probability. When teaching about the Miller- Urey experiment that formed amino acids with sparks in an ammonia atmosphere should include discussion of L and R type isomers and the discussion of forming proteins should mention that all the reactions are reversible – so as larger molecules start to form they will break apart. Evolution is at odds with many other sciences. Physics teaches the second law of thermodynamics which says everything gets more disordered over time in a closed system (i.e. without an outside agent) and Biology teaches Pasteur’s Law of Biogensis ( no spontaneous generation of life); Information theory says random events cannot create information). The process of evolution is opposite to all of these scientific laws (and others I don’t have time to list). Evolution is popular precisely because it is the only alternative to a superior being to whom we are accountable.

  • FOF’s Minnery should have responded that legal same sex marriage is a recent aberration; for a study to have children old enough to have outcome data the nuclear families would have to have been traditional husband- wife.

  • Wild Bill – Your excuse for the 57 number is bogus; they are indeed territories but if you recall B.O. claimed to have visited all but two while campaigning. He did not visit the US territories so if he was including the territories as you suggest Obama should have said all but 9 of the 57.

  • Just wondering – did any one else notice that the star field is a bit odd in Picture 3 – where are the other two stars in the middle row ….
