  • Really?? There are still people debating who is responsible for killing children and/or the adult Jesus?? King Herod I seem to recall was Roman, as were most of the guards and far later in the story, the Romans strung up and killed Jesus. While the Jews may have called for his death (using heresy as the charge, and if you are/were Muslim, heresy is a death sentence then and now), it was the Romans who did the deed. Jeez…..

  • I have a modular home, built in PA and shipped to Maine. I have estimated 500+ photo’s of stuff done weird, wrong, halfassed, and instead of posting what was wrong and why, I bring people who are talking about modulars into my home and give them a tour, complete with video and photos. You know what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, but seeing things first hand is priceless. The stories I can tell. My favorite: our home comes with piping system that removes radon and pipes it to the outside. Problem? If you don’t tell them to hook it up, it stays unhooked in your ceiling. Found this out when the tubs caulking let go and they came out to fix the ceiling. How are you supposed to know it’s not hooked up, I asked? “I don’t know” is the response we got. And studs, standard measure on center but only if you request it. Went’ to hang up our flat screen, studs aren’t where they should be. Was told that since we didn’t request it, we got “Their” standard.

  • While it may be cheaper to purchase toys closer to Christmas, the AVAILABILITY of those toys is questionable. It is always in your best interest to make the best deal you can, however having to settle on a toy “kinda like” the one asked for, is no bargain.

  • Keaton, please define “bad” parents. Would you/could you use the same definition to describe “bad” teachers? “Bad” ministers/priests? Who decides? What about the child who sneaks the key away from parents who are sleeping, keeps it hidden til they go to work, unlocks and takes the gun and kills someone? Parents who never expected their child would entertain doing such a horrible thing? Maybe said kid acted impulsively, thereby offering up no clues to what he was considered doing? And sometimes, parents do all the “correct, by the book” stuff and STILL their kid goes against the grain. You can blame gun owners, you can demand stiffer laws and higher fines, but you can’t legislate intelligence, irrational reasoning and impulse control. If it wasn’t a gun, it could have been a knife, a sharp stick, a box cutter……my condolences to the family, the witnessing kids and bus driver and my prayers for the child who killed and his family. Sad losses, all around.

  • I hate to sound kinda mean but I heard about Agenda 21 LONG before I heard Glenn Beck mention it. And it’s been discussed on Prepper News aLOT longer than Beck has. But more people listen to Beck (even those that will tell you don’t) so it’s now the latest, greatest thing. Liberals hate to hear us talking about it because its a liberal idea and they hoped they could just bury it deep until it became law. All this attention is just shining a light on it. Light casts out darkness and pretty much anything coming from the UN is darkness so no surprise there. Watch your towns governing body, attend their meetings and watch for those buzz words. As we talk about them, they will change them. Stay awake and focused.

  • Instead of focusing on that utter nonsense that passes for news every time that man speaks, we should be focusing on all the failed economic policies, job losses, HUGE, HUGE debt, our capitulating to known terrorists and get Romney to do the same. Geez, his speech preparers need some assistance, it’s almost like they are afraid of upsetting Obama. I’d love a crack at writing Romney’s next speech. I couldn’t do worse.

  • O.k., Mr. Smith had a right to his opinion. As do I, as do you. We all also enjoy rights of expressing our opinion. That being said, he did not have the right to harass that young woman, nor did he have the right to film her without her permission and then post it. Can you just for a moment think about how you’d feel if while at the beach, someone you don’t know is talking to and filming your child? Even if said child is over 18? He also has the right to do stupid stuff (and who among us hasn’t done something stupid?) But by threatening his family, his life and livelihood, we are sinking to their level, not rising up. WE need to be the better people, we need to show others the way and show all that we are not as the media would portray us. Perfect love casts out hate. Always.

  • Good Lord, I don’t know where to begin..I believe SHE has been in the dark and it’s about time someone brings her into the light. Too bad the flashlight she chose was him, he’s about as bright as flashlight running on 1 and 1/2 “C” batteries.

The BEST way to answer people who utter such nonsense is this Nov. And I believe it was a Democrat who gave us the best yardstick by which to measure how we are doing as a nation and as individuals “Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?”

  • Makes one wonder, I get into my car, drive through a animal compound where I get to see the animals up close but from the safety of my vehicle. Why not space visitors, driving by and looking at us? Of course here in Maine, we don’t like to post too many signs telling you where exactly you are, so it’s also possible that they were probably just trying to find out where the Super Bowl was being played. Just a thought. Go Patriots!

  • I remember in the 70′s, while in high school, my Social Studies teacher explained that communism works wonderfully, ON PAPER. The reality is in the real world, with real people, it never works, never has and never will. Name one country that communism has proven to be successful. Now name a country that this has worked that was enforced by the gun, “re-education camps” and gulags.
