  • Evolution happened, get over it. It’s not a big deal. There are millions of Christians who believe that evolution occurred and go to church every Sunday. When people argue vehemently against evolution I feel a sort of sympathy for them. I only get mad at the politicians in power who try to push creationism into classrooms. I have degrees in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Chemical Technology. Evolution is just the way the natural world works. Why are people so offended from the fact that we emerged from the natural world? Once you become educated on molecular biology, genetics, and zoology it becomes pretty COOL to see how everything is related.

It’s not atheists, liberals, and commies who are trying to push the “lies” of evolution into classrooms to brainwash children. My father is a Baptist pastor and I went to Messiah College in Pennsylvania. My entire family is Christian. I’m not a Christian but I don’t want to get rid of Christians. I just want to get rid of stupidity and ignorance.

Conservative evangelical Republicans who want to push creationism into public schools are ultimately just stabbing the entire Republican franchise in the foot. Attacking well grounded scientific facts just makes us as Republicans look backwards and ignorant and we will continue to lose ground in these urgent politic

  • In my opinion, God is a concept made up by our minds. Since there are 7 billion minds on the planet Earth then there are many different concepts of God. The God concept can never be rationally and logically proven or disproven. This fact should give all intellectually honest and educated people a pause and some humility. Any voices that we hear in our heads are voices produced by the firings of billions of interconnected neuronal synapses in our heads. These are our voices alone. These are the inner workings of our minds. Many people who’ve meditated or gotten into Eastern religions realize this intimately. Our reality is, has always been, and will always be a manifestation of what our minds project onto the outside world.

Monotheist conservative Republican believers, which probably are the large majority of Blaze commenters, should be very careful. Islamic lunatics, schizophrenics, and other insane people also believe they hear the voice of some Higher Power in their heads. Ridiculing Islamic people for hearing Allah is a slippery slope when evangelical Christians also say that Jesus and God the Father
“have entered my life and shown me the purpose and meaning of my life which comes from talking to them as I pray before going to bed at night.” In a philosophical sense, this is as ridiculous as an Islamic lunatic saying “Allah has commanded me to go kill all the infidels.”
