The REAL news here, is that Chris Matthews actually called our country a REPUBLIC!

@angel – I understand that you appreciate and respect your police dept. And, I will say that they handled the situation better than many open carry confrontations I have seen. Your chief was definitely respectful. But, it sounds like you may be one of the many who has an irrational fear of guns. You say that people were alarmed because they’re not used to seeing plain-clothes civilians carrying. You find this understandable considering the “atrocities that have occurred by those not in uniform.” Well, what about atrocities that have occurred by those IN UNIFORM? THEY are much more efficient killers. But I digress. People should be able to figure out that plain-clothes, civilian criminals don’t broadcast their intention to commit a crime by going out to lunch with their gun in plain view. Law-abiding citizens are the ones who carry openly. Sure, carrying concealed is better in many ways, but how will people ever lose their irrational fear of guns if the never see responsible citizens with guns? Honest police forces should (and many do) welcome an armed community because it is a great deterrent to crime.

Bill Maher is living proof that you see yourself in others. He is one of the most hateful, closed-minded people on the planet. So, of course he assumes those same traits in others.

Why are the socialists organizing these protests? Because this case has exposed the division in America. But, it’s not between “black and white” its between statists and individualists. Why have more not recognized the fact that this division seems to follow political persuasion? The truth is that the statists DESPERATELY need their flock to continue to believe that this country is still horribly racist. Otherwise, what do they use to sway the electorate? The reason you see individualists coming to the defense of Zimmerman and, to a lesser extent, Paula Deen is because we know what it’s like to be called falsely labeled racists. So, we have a greater tendency to reserve judgment when someone else is labeled a racist.

    Seawolf – Yes, that’s what I was saying. :)

Was Zimmerman following Martin because he was black? Doesn’t matter. Let’s say a white man locked his car door as a black man passed by. Racist, right? Possibly. What is the white guy is racist? Do the racist and otherwise ignorant in this country lose their basic human rights? Does that appearance of racial profiling mean the white man loses his right to defend himself if attacked? Nope. What matters in this case is: Who was the aggressor? Did Zimmerman have good reason to believe that his life was at risk? If the answers to those questions are “I don’t know.” Then we have to give the benefit of the doubt to Zimmerman. All of the talk about race in this case is counterproductive as it perpetuates ignorance.

Does Bette Midler, a woman of Jewish descent, really want to play alternate history and imagine a world just like the one we have now except no America? Hmmm….I seem to remember America playing some pretty important roles in history. But, hey, dare to dream, Bette.

A horse trough packed tightly with bottle rockets doesn’t suck.

Yes the bride is ungrateful, but what I find truly appalling is her absolutely terrible grammar. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that both stupidity and entitlement can be found in this bride.

I have no doubt that it’s real. I’m a native to Moore and remember very well the 5/3/1999 tornado. One of the video stores was hit and lost two walls, but most of the videos were still standing on the shelves. I’ve seed cereal boxes still standing on kitchen tables after the roof was blown off.

On the flip side: I saw a car in the wreckage after the May 3rd tornado where a baby blanket that was in the car had been sucked through a crack in the windshield and was sticking out of the glass like a flag.

Wrong, DJ, there is such a thing as supremacy. The purpose of supremacy is to prevent states and municipalities from restricting citizens’ rights. It’s not “bullying” if the state is protecting its residents from arbitrary and oppressive laws.

Great there’s $20 million we just saved instead of $2 million. Cut ALL funding to the closed agency.

Hunt is exactly right. Leftist ideologues ruin their cities and states (Detroit) and then flee to greener pastures. Then they go mucking everythng up in a new place. They’re too stupid to realize that they’re the problem.

The problem is that Libertarians lack realistic expectations. Third parties have never and will never last in this county. But, NEW parties can take the place of a dying political party. Six months ago, I believed that the best plan would have been for everyone to rally around the Republicans FOR NOW and continue to change the party from within (think Iowa). Now, I believe that the Progressive establishment will kill their own party before they allow it to be taken over by “crazy Ron Paul supporters,” because Progressives rally around each other. So, it’s time for the Libertarian movement to take down the Republicans, but in order to do that, we must win DEMOCRATS. If a massive “each one win one” effort started now, they would stand a chance of making waves in some upcoming elections.

So, is a town so small, and so far right, Obama still got 5 votes. Yet, NOTHING unusual about Romney’s 0 votes in so many precints. Yeah, right. Which party is claiming there’s no voter fraud, again?

  • November 12, 2012 at 7:03pm

Well, if it’s just high concentration of Dems, there should be some deep red precincts in which Obama failed to get a single vote. Riight?

Imagine what a blowout this race would be if it wasn’t for the left’s cheating thuggery.

I’m reminded of a scene from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie where the servants are trying to hide the girl. “They’re here for you. You’re the governor’s daughter.” Um….How do you lose the AMBASSADOR? Isn’t he the one guy most likely to be the target? He should have been at the bottom of a dog-pile of secuity.
