  • I, too, live in SC and concourr with Redfish52′s comments. We have had officers in schools (some more than others) for the past 20 years. Some were part time, others were permanent. We also have to have an 8 hr classroom course with gun qualification at the end for a concealed weapons permit. Those of us who DO HAVE a CWP know what we CAN and CAN’T do. We’re not just a bunch of right-wing rednecks looking to shoot road signs. I’m college educated and not only will do whateve i can to protect my family…i’m going to support sensible measures to protect our kids. There’s also nothing wrong with teachers concealing weapons for protection with the proper training…and training IS available.

  • I live in SC and Clyburn does NOT represent SC views! He has always had an extreme left, poor pitiful me, blacks still in slavery attitude which turns off 99.98% of South Carolinians. Other than that…he’s a moron, irrespective of race. He always makes “race” a factor in everything he talks about even though race was never in question. He’s from the lower part of the state where, in parts, are a larger number of low-income families but I think he likes them there because it bolsters his arguments. If they were more successful, then he’d lose so-call “credibility.”

  • You can call it what you want but the Bible is VERY clear and specific…men don’t belong with men and women don’t belong with women. These actions are an abomination to the Lord. No one is perfect and everyone has their faults but when you continue to do something in light of the truth, then it can no longer be accepted under the rule “let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” Redefining marriage and noting that God’s laws are “outdated” is messing with fire.

  • What?? All those “radicals with guns” and not one shot fired? Where was all the police presence like the Occupy Wallstreet Stupids needed? Where were the National Guard? Oh wait….these are law-abiding AMERICANS!!!

  • He doesn’t understand it’s not ABOUT guns…it’s about our RIGHTS as Americans! Gun ownership is one of the most fundamental rights we have. The whole amendment is only a couple sentences long…simple, easy to understand. I have some friends who are still in the military and they’ve said if the government goes that far, they’ll just disobey orders, point blank. Brokaw needs to mull around the pasture with Rather as they’ve spewed their idiotic opinion their whole career. Of course, you can’t really blame him for his opinion…after all, he’s been trained on guns from Hollywood.

  • Now that Christie’s crisis has toned down in the mainstream, he has to try and say something to be keep front-and-center on everyone’s mind. FEMA and the government have always been a disaster so delaying aid in Congress isn’t anything new but Christie’s pie hole is working overtime.

  • So what. I don’t have cable, I don’t HAVE to HAVE cable. Cigarette ads were banned years ago but hasn’t helped that part of life. Here in the deep south guns are a part of life. My grandfather taught my dad, my dad me…I get the joy of teaching my two sons to hunt, to fend for themselves, and to defend their family by whatever means possible. Hollywood has always skewed reality…or is it “screwed” reality….

  • How about an assault BAT, or assault tire-iron, or assault rock. Too bad the tourist in NYC didn’t have a gun against the thugs that almost killed him. And by the way…you CAN’T HAVE OUR GUNS!

  • Wow…the CDC needs to come up reasons for gun violence….glad I got my flu shot! Wait…incentivizing schools to hire more resource officers. I thought more guns in school wasn’t the answer? Let’s face it…he’s a MORON and surrounds himself with IDIOTS…and kids.

  • SENDTHEMETEORS,
Let’s see…the bad guys don’t have to reload but we law-abiding citizens are handicapped by having to reload…makes sense in a liberal world.
