  • Not to mention that gay marriage is not legal or recognized in Oregon

  • This bakery is 2 miles from home and a quarter mile from my church in Gresham (pop 105,000) a suburb of Portland (pop 2,260,000). Let me assure you that there are a plethora of other bakeries available, especially those that specialize in catering to “alternative” lifestyles in Portland. This was a targeted attack to take down a faith based, small suburban business the type of which is increasing all over the US. Persecution is rising! I don’t like sweets myself but I will be supporting this couple who dared to take a stand for their faith!

  • IF Obama had a daughter…oh wait…nevermind

  • I admire the guts of these guys doing this in my backyard but if they really want to make an impact and warm up the culture of this progressive dungeon to our surviving rights, pistols would have been a better choice. Their shock awareness actions will now embolden the far left city politicians that run this place to restrict open carry.

  • Obama will take the credit for the jobs created and the drop in the unemployment rate.

  • I’m with you LMW, I knew that this would end up spreading part time jobs in place of full time positions. Now Obama will get to reward the masses that elected him, with jobs! It will become the new form of wealth for him to spread as sequestration, QE4ever, cuts, taxes and inflation render welfare payments obsolete. The new haves and have nots will be the employed and the unemployed, even if it is only 28 hours per week and to top it off Obama will take the credit for the jobs created and the drop in the unemployment rate.

  • I’m with you LMW, I knew that the spread of part time jobs would result. Just think of it as Obama’s gift to the masses that elected him. He is now going to spread the new form of wealth around, a job! Sequestration, cuts, or inflation will likely overwhelm welfare so the next true category of haves and have nots will be the employed and the unemployed, even if it is its 28 hours a week!

  • Nelson Mandela, 94-Years-Old, Hospitalized in Pretoria

    In reply to Keatonc33.

The level of comments on this story simply astounds me. Granted I have huge respect for what Mandela did and stood for, but we either have ton of embedded trolls here that are trying to make us freedom loving patriots look like a bunch of heartless racists, or I’d hate to consider the alternative.

You mentioned that “a white man can’t even enter the city because they’ll be murdered”. I spent a month in South Africa with my family this year. Most of the time was spent in Johannesburg and even in the townships like Soweto and Pretoria. I got to see Mandela’s home and some of the other notable sites where the rebellions against the apartheid took place. These were in the townships where the white population is still below 1% yet where a majority of the city’s population resides. Seeing how life is there was an amazement to me. In a country with 50% UNEMPLOYMENT and almost no safety net or welfare, the people are very polite, industrious, entrepreneurial, and hard workers mostly trying to survive under lawfully. With scarcity of resources and charity, crime is very high there, but racism was not. I felt less of a target there than I would in some of the suburbs of Detroit or LA. I admire Mandela for the mercy, true leadership, and forgiveness he showed. I only wish we stil had leaders here with that level of moral fortitude. The current administration, Zuma’s, and the others since Mandela are increasingly corrupt, sadly, and things are getting worse, but let me assure you, as a WHITE AMERICAN, I spent a month there and was NEVER in danger of being murdered!

  • Although I was not born here, i have been near Portland for many years. I’m often reminded by the older locals that the whole of Oregon and even Portland used to be a great place with much more conservative and traditional values: there were jobs and opportunity especially in the logging and fishing industry. In 1905 an “Army of Christians Marches About City,” proclaimed the top of the Oregon Journal newspaper’s front page of Friday, March 31, 1905. “At Midnight Nearly Ten Thousand People, Singing Hymns, Proclaim the Power of Revival.” 240 major stores closed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day to enable people to attend prayer meetings. The store owners signed an agreement so that no one would cheat and stay open. But then the drug fueled sickness also know now as liberalism grew in California in the 60s and then in the 80s and 90s they came here and spread their filth. Now there’s plenty of trees (extreme forest fires every year) and fish, but few jobs, high unemployment, illegal drugs abound, and gangs from Mexico and El Salvador terrorize the neighborhoods, my alma mater teaching revolutionary marxism, and in addition a tv series that mocks how twisted and messed up the liberals are who live here (see portlandia, it’s very close to reality). All this we have to thank for the liberals like “The Third Archon”
