There are actually two flaws that attackers can use, and the fix that Oracle released only fixes one of them. Unless you absolutely need it, it’s best to disable the use of Java in browsers. That vast majority of people have no need for it anyway (keeping in mind that Java and Javascript are two completely different, and unrelated languages).

Lando, you don’t even need to have Java installed, no modern browser requires it. You are thinking of Javascript (officially known as ECMAScript). They are completely different languages and share no common heritage. Javascript’s name was chosen solely to capitalize on the popularity of the Java language.

@raderby On the other hand, it’s different if those codes were already in place when the gardener bought his house. If he didn’t look into the local laws of where he was being his house, that’s his fault.
If he doesn’t want to follow the law, HE can move. If the community agrees with him, they can change the laws.
