  They seem wise enough already. An election cycle ago this man promised to do something they wanted, that they should vote for him; we conservatives certainly believed he meant to do it. Only when he had both houses of congress filibuster proof, he spent all his time and political capital getting government control of the health care industry, something he didn’t run on. The Hispanic community expected results, and there’s a convincing interpretation that they didn’t get them solely because Obama wasn’t interesting in devoting any time and effort whatsoever in fulfilling the promises he made to get their votes, that the fact of the promise itself was and is good enough to ensure their loyalty to him. He basically treated them as if they were the African American community, and seems that was a mistake on his part.
