  All of you .45 bashers are just like the libs, facts and history mean nothing to ya. All this talk about to expensive, not enough capacity, living in 1911, blah, blah, blah…. Why don’t you read some ballistics tables before shooting your mouths off.

  .45 ACP was invented because the .38 didn’t have the stopping power that the US Army needed. That’s also the reason that the same US military used this caliber and platform for 75 years before some tool decided they should conform to NATO and change to 9mm, which is an OK round to shoot paper, but travels too fast to properly expand in soft tissue. Yah, you can carry alot of 9mm on board but you’ll need em to drop somebody hopped up on goofballs, or maybe you just can’t hit the broad side of a barn.

  If your using cost as an issue, nowadays 9, 40, & 45 aren’t all that different, their all expensive. Todays bullets and powders are what make the difference, especially bullet expansion technologies. With the availability of the Critical Defence & Duty, Ranger SXT, Golden Sabre, Cor-bon the “size” playing field has been somewhat leveled, as any of the calibers can be lethal with a superior bullet. But physics still rules, size & weight = muzzle energy, and thats what does the job, the rest is icing.

  If your worried about capacity get a big boy pistol, an STI, or a PARA double stack, my P14, w/+2 base pad holds 16 .45 ACP, is that enough for ya?

  If the D.C. Police doesn’t take this investgation ALL the way, and the D.C. District Attorney doesn’t proscute this clown to the FULL extent of the law, (especially after Police denied permission through normal channels), neither the Police, nor the DA will have the credibility to enforce any gun law against any law abiding citizen ever again.

  Chicago, with is most stringent gun laws had how many murders this last weekend, was it 7, or 8. Doesn’t sound like much, but that was just this last weekend. Here’s a link that says it all:
