  • LEEROSE55- At $400,000 level, we fund the government for 2 days instead of 5. Whoopee. If that make you feel better, go ahead, but to the rest of us in the Real World, it is all just smoke and mirrors when compared to the rest of the 360 days of Spending. THAT is the one-ton gorrilla in the room conveniently being ignored. His class warfare rhetoric is aimed directly at low-information voters such as you, and evidently it is hitting the mark Until you stop getting your information solely from DNC crafted sound-bites, you are so much cannon fodder for the Progressives (seems like they used to call your types ‘Useful Idiots”).

  • This situation is the Progressive ultimate dream.
    1. Raise the taxes on EVERYBODY, and blame it on the stubborn Republicans.
    2. Deep cuts in the military, their favorite target, and again blame it on the Republicans.
    3. Give limited tax cuts in January, and be proclaimed as the Second Coming for saving the middle class.
    4. In doing the above they relegate the Republicans to irrelevance and cement their dominance for the foreseeable future, with virtually no effective opposition.
Lot of tax money to spend, a further weakened military and unaccountable power- what is not to like about going over the cliff?

  • Barry has only one offer at any negotiating session :” Give up or else!. End of negotiations.” And all the Old Line Eunichs do as they are trained over the many years to do, give in and shut up.
We need to flood the swithboard in DC to get rid of Boehner and get a real General at the helm to reverse the current retreat into a attack. We need to Win back the powers vested to the Congress by the Constitution and ceded to this President by BOTH sides of the isle.

  • OK, let’s figure this out. A solid gold metal weighing 1 pound would have 12oz x $1800/oz = $21,600 per medal. If there are 100 medals given out that would total $2.16 million. Solid silver medals would be 12oz x $38/oz = $456 each or $45,600 for 100 medals. Together, that is $2.5 million for REAL Gold and Silver medals. The cost of the games is what, about $1 Billion? Getting real medals for the atheletes would cost less than a rounding error in the big picture of the games.

This illustrates again what was apparent here in Salt Lake City during the 2002 Games- the athletes are two-bit players in the scheme of the games, which is really just an excuse for a giant high-priced party for the elite Olympic Family Members and International community, with a few chances for political one-ups-man-ship and bragging rights for a few nations between Games. So those who sacrifice the most and risk everything are literally thrown a token, reduced to not much more than costume jewelery, in an effort to save money for more ‘important’ expeditures. This is another scandal thrown on top of a mountain of them known as the Olympics.

Like the Soldiers who fight and die for protecting our country, it is up to us the ‘common people’ to make up to them and the Olympic athletes the respect and appreciation lacking by the ruling elites.

  • So ABC dropped extensive coverage? Humm- Could it be because they have either 1) found no compelling reason to maintain coverage (ie. They have found no connections with Holms and the Tea Party, right-wing extremism, ect) or 2) they have found connections with Occupy Wall street, envirowackos, liberal causes, homosexual activism etc, in which case they will drop him like a hot potato with only minimal obligatory coverage (we already know he is a registered Democrat, which is enough to cool most networks jets). Of course this is taking for granted that the actual tragedy itself is not enough of itself to justify coverage for the MSM except to temporarily bump ratings with out being able to connect it to some democrat narative/agenda. Let them make a right-wing connection, and you will see this story instantantly fanned to white-hot, wall-to-wall coverage. The faster Holms drop as a person of interest to the MSM, the more suspicious I become.

  • Honestly, if some people didn’t have a negative thought, they wouldn’t have any. For the average guy driving down the freeway and dreaming of being able to take off and fly, this is a dream come true. Even if the sour grape bloggers here can’t appreciate progress, it will be boon to creative individuals coming up with great applications such as high-end taxis, commuter flights to remote cabins, resorts, fishing locations, and I bet anyone in the vast open spaces of the western states would love to have one to use on the long empty stretches of highway to get groceries from town and check on his cattle, etc. Use your imagination looking for positive uses instead of a Vulture Mentality tearing something apart. Honestly, some people would complain if they were hung with a new rope!

  • I had heard of Blondin before, but didn’t realize his walk wasn’t directly over the falls. I noticed as soon as Wallenda started to pray and thank God in the middle of the walk, the network cut his audio and went to the talking heads. It probably violated some part of his contract to mention God, but I am glad he demonstrated his source of inspiration and strength.

  • I would have loved to know the options racing through his mind during the ‘UHH’S”: the possible Lies, Obfucations, Word parses, etc, etc, only to be rulled out on the fly. All this with his visualising having to justify his response to a livid Obama if he gets it wrong. To see a profession lier squirm like this is like enjoying a political banana split.

  • Obama is said to be looking for a new campaign slogan. How about:
    Fulfill My Wife’s Dreams
    or
But I’m Not Finished With My Vacation List Yet!!

  • Please, please fullfill your dream and end our nightmare…
