  If someone has it in their mind to do something, it will get done. If no gun were available then the weapon may have been a knife (or maybe even bare hands). So let’s outlaw knives, too. Are the feds going to come knocking at the door to empty my kitchen drawers? This is a stupid premise. As the saying goes, guns (or knives) don’t kill people, PEOPLE kill people.

  C’mon guys. This is not a “calibration” issue. It’s a coding issue. I’m not an expert in these machines, but it seems to me that the area defined on the screen for interaction is not something that would be “calibrated,” but rather deliberately defined in the software code that drives the hardware.

  The reality is that wind turbines from China are making their way to wind farms in the US. What does Obama propose to keep that from happening? Blanket statements stating that turbines will be manufactured in the US are wishes and dreams – not part of a strategy. BTW, has anyone done an independent TCO analysis for the different types of energy sources?

  This is not an issue of gun control, but one of the failure of our mental health system to effectively treat those with brain disorders. Funding for mental health treatment is at an all time low, and continues to be under attack by our legislators. There’s little to no accountability or measured outcomes to determine what methods of treatment are effective or if providers and practitioners are delivering the full service they are supposed to (if it is covered at all). Finally, HIPAA has confounded the treatment process by excluding care givers and loved ones from the treatment process – information that is crucial to practitioners in evaluating the behavior of those with brain disorders.

  “Who defines what and who the right kind of Christian is?”
  Right @Tigress1. God does and there are many passages in the New Testament that provide that definition for us. Ultimately it is a personal relationship with God, our creator, and only God knows who has Him in his heart. A Christian is defined not just by what he says, but by what he does, as that is a manifestation of that personal relationship with God in which we strive to please Him. Are all Christians perfect? Absolutely not. The difference is the standard to which we, as Christians, hold ourselves to – which is found in the Bible.
