I rarely agree with Skeletor Mitchell, but there is some truth to that; although “more or less an American ally” is more than a bit much. The Iranians were acting in their own best interest in pursuing limited cooperation with us, fearing how far we might take this “War on Terror” thing in the early days following 9/11. It’s doubtful in my view that their “allied” status would have lasted long, no matter what Bush said or didn’t say.
I was never more proud of any speech than the 911 speech by Bush. Mitchell has the beliefs that if America would throw down it's Weapons and "surrender" to all who oppose us, all would be forgiven and Rainbows would appear in the Skies daily. She's an ass kisser and that's all she's ever been.
Sorry Inferiae but you are wrong. Iran was not an an ally before 9/11. Even back then they were spending big money on training radical groups throughout the middle east. They see themselves as leaders of the Middle East, and through their Persin background see themselves as superior to the Arab nations. Hence, they have been working hard behind the scenes to create havok throughout the region. There is nothing, or has their ever been anything, benign about Iran.
