Limit access to who, bad people who don’t give a flying crap about gun laws, or gun free zones? Or some law abiding citizen, who wants to buy a gun, to protect himself, and or family from one of those bad guys. Guns can be banned tomorrow, but that wouldn’t stop mass murder- if someone wants to kill, they will kill- and always come up with ways to do it. Again, nobody wants to talk about how he killed his 3 roommates with a knife- I guess we need to ban knives next lol.

You forgot to add Japan, where most of the games come from, and have always come from. Gaming is an even bigger thing in Japan, and they do get the big violent games like Call of Duty, and Grand Theft Auto, which sell quite well there along with their own violent games, which also sell here too.. Yet why do they not have the same problem? Could it be, their culture is better than western culture?

    @KevINtampa

Yes people still do play those games, and video games that are violent for the sake of being violent- don’t do well financially. Grand Theft Auto is an open world game, its supposed to be somewhat realistic, allowing the player to be able to do almost anything. Though the object of the game is not to kill random people, or hookers, you can if you want, and that says something about the person playing- but its not the object of the game.

The game is also not for, nor marketed to children- but adults. I remember my brother and I were in a game store. We’re talking with the clerk about games in general, what we can’t wait to play, this man comes up with Gears of War, says he’s picking it up for his son. I ask “how old is he?” He says he’s 7, we all look at each other- I say to him “you know that game is not for kids.”, the clerk goes “its pretty violent, lots of cursing”

The father’s response… “yeah I know, but he wants it”.. This is the problem.

You’ll have to ban knives too, because nobody seems to want to talk about how he first killed his 3 roommates by stabbing them. Problem is mental illness, and just western culture- it sucks. Look at Japan, Japan is the country that inspired the big gaming industry, inspired many of the current game designers, including myself- and home of the most violent video games, animation, comics… Yet no stories of Japanese kids running up in schools slaughtering classmates. Hmmmm.

    @Bernbart

What laws? Video games, and such are a form of art. There should be no laws telling any creator what they can and cannot put in them. MOST video games, aren’t even for kids, nor are they marketed towards kids. Unfortunately we have a lot of ignorant people who when they hear or see the word “game”, they assume its for children.

It is all on the parent, 100%. It is the parent who decides what comes into the home, most parents don’t want to say “NO”, or just don’t pay attention. There are also parental lockouts on these new game consoles, and underage children cannot go into a game store and pick up a game like Call of Duty, or Grand Theft Auto. A parent has to buy that for them.

Video games, movies, music, aren’t even slightly relevant. I’m 32, grew up playing video games (now make em), many of them were very violent (still play em). Aside from that, watched a lot of violent animation, movies, read many violent comics. Never did I ever get in trouble, nor felt the urge to hurt or kill people.

These violent games, comics, and animations I had- were all from Japan. Hell I even learned Japanese- to be able to play, watch, or read many of them, as some of it were banned, or heavily edited in the US. Why do we not hear stories like this coming out of Japan? a nation that also isn’t largely Christian either.

Many soldiers will play the violent video games, or watch violent movies. Come back home with PTSD, not get help, and end up killing themselves- not a bunch of people in a public place.

Problem is, we’ve pushed out what is good and virtuous- good traditions are seen as old fashioned, lame, something to be made fun of. There is no respect, or personal responsibility. Kids are too sheltered, treated like babies, coddled, spoiled, and become self-entitled creeps. When they step into reality, and are denied, realize they aren’t so perfect and special as their parents told them, told no.. They flip out. Add mental illness into the equation- and you have yourself a problem.

Which lastly, we do not care for the mentally ill well at all.

So.. Basically what you are saying is, the blacks who’ve built themselves up, reject big government, and the Social Democrat slave party, and speak out about the rubbish within the black community- would be better off as slaves? I got what the guy was trying to say, but when you aren’t that intelligent, and don’t know how to word things correctly, you make yourself look foolish- which is what he did, and yes that will be the only thing talked about, and yes people will paint him as a racist- when he probably isn’t.

  • [-1] April 24, 2014 at 11:48am

That’s not playing the race card- or hypocrite. If this guy in fact said this, the way he said it- then it was wrong, and he should be called out for it. “the *****” who the hell says that kind of crap? Those comments are basically a slap in the face, to the people, black and white who fought to end slavery. Its a slap in the face to many black Americans, who work hard and live right. It also gives ammo to the left, who will now easily paint him as a racist.. Not surprised he’d slip up and say something dumb.

Nope, just an ugly past coming back. Communist Russia killed millions, and went after the Jews, before Nazi Germany did. Not many know about what Stalin did to the Ukrainians/Jews, it is never taught in schools. The Ukrainians, and Ukrainian Jews however remember, and or know the history. They fear its all coming back (they are right), with a Russia that knows America, and western Europe are weak, and pretty much can do nothing.

There have been political ads trashing Ukrainians/Jews, vids of pro- Russian Communist attacking Jews. Wouldn’t surprise me if these papers, were created by such. Same kinda thing is going on in Greece, with the Golden Dawn, which is Nazi-like. History repeats when you don’t learn it, and then have a bunch of dumb weak leaders, and a public who doesn’t know much of anything, or cares, and allows these people to get power.

  • April 20, 2014 at 8:20am

    Wow, um.. No.

    1. The name Adam comes from the Hebrew word “Adama”, which means Earth. Adam, means to be red. Adam had a clay-like skin tone, “Red earth” is what the name means. Not red like a fire truck, but like clay- the earth, as he came from the earth.

    2. Jesus was not Caucasian, he was a Hebrew. Which means he would have looked like a typical Middle Eastern male, but very attractive.

    3. Satan knows very well that Jesus’ earthly body was destroyed. He knows why this was to be, and tried to even stop it. So killing off X amount of people, to stop Christ’s return; makes absolutely no sense.

Though I agree with Gingrich here, the only person worth listening to really at this event, was Rand Paul. I’m sick of these politicians, going on and on about social conservatism. Though I do not believe everyone who claims to be gay, is actually gay (there are gays who even say this). I’m sick of the gay marriage debate. Who the hell cares if two people in love wish to marry (TWO PEOPLE). I think abortion is absolutely horrid, but these idiots always fall into the trap when asked about abortion- giving ammo to silly leftist.

You state you’re against it, unless the woman’s life/health is at risk. You state how the choice is between the woman, her family, the man if involved, and most of all- god if she believes, DONE. Unfortunately they get all into this other crap, slip up and say something stupid- and get pegged at some woman hating religious nut that wants to control what goes on in your bed room. Then they spend more time defending against that, than talking about issues that really matter.. GET OFF THE SOCIAL ISSUES!

We have an out of control gov, people losing freedom more so every day, terrible economy, weakening of military, when major war is probably not too far off. An outdated weak power grid, that could put us in the dark for god knows how long if a terrorist decides to attack it (which would be easy), and people wanna talk about gay marriage and abortion- give me a break.

  • April 12, 2014 at 6:27pm

So proud of these people, very proud for standing up the way they did. I have absolutely no respect for military, or police- who carry out orders that either puts American civilians or soldiers in danger, or further takes their freedom away. The man fought this in court, because what was being done to him was wrong. When he lost in court, he decided to stand up still, very awesome.

I think this will probably give others the courage, to start standing up a bit more aggressively- towards out of control government.

Conservatives always fall into the left-wing trap on social issues, which turns off many independents, and even libertarians like myself. In a little debate I had not too long ago, someone asked me about gay marriage, and abortion- and my response…

“Government has no place in marriage, nor is marriage mentioned in the constitution. So I am in favor of two consenting adults wanting to form a union. However I would protect the religious rights of churches who do not believe in gay marriage, as protecting the religious rights IS in the constitution.” Done, there’s no need to talk about what your faith says, you’re not governing with your bible, but with the constitution.

On abortion I talked about how sad it is, how it is, the history of it, what the woman may feel after it, but ultimately the choice is between her, family, and god if she believes- if her life is in danger. I talk about how barbaric late term abortion is, and how giving the child up for adoption is best, and how we need to fix adoption procedures in this country. Done, this whole no abortion no exception is absolute rubbish stupid, or trying to ban contraceptives.

I’m fiscally conservative, as it is common sense. Socially I am a liberal in its true original meaning- as it is based on freedom and individualism- not controlling what goes on in someone else personal life.

  • November 6, 2013 at 7:33pm

We know that many within the Republican party also favor big gov, but I’m going to be blunt.. Many conservatives are just plain and simply stupid, and lazy! Stop talking about social issues, and Jesus- you’re not a political church, and if you’re all for getting gov out of people’s lives, I don’t want to hear crap about gay marriage or abortion. Make a strong case for the free market, preach the constitution, individualism, why and how big gov policies reduce freedoms and rights. Majority of Americans are dumb, and need to hear and be taught these things, but conservatives are just too damn lazy and stupid.

Games that have random wild violence for the sake of it, and no good story, mediocre gameplay, never sell well. I wasn’t the least bit surprised GTA sold so many copies, the series has a lot of fans, fans that are mostly in their late 20′s 30′s and 40′s- and they wanna see what happens, and yeah its fun, and funny. If you want games that have violence for the sake of violence with nothing to it, then you can find one of those hate games, in which you go about killing blacks, Hispanics or gays… But you’ll never see a game like that sponsored by any major developer, or corporation like Sony or Microsoft.

In the end it all boils down to the parent’s responsibility. If you’re buying little Johnny Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Gears of War, or Saints Row; then you’re a crap parent. Retailers will not sell these games to little kids, and if you’re letting your kid use your card to order it online, then again you’re a crap parent.

Can and will they get to these games? Sure the way kids have always sneaked about either messing in daddy’s hidden porn stash, or sneaking into that R rated film. If you’re not an involved parent, meaning you don’t talk to your kids about the world, society, life- then don’t be surprised lol. There’s no excuse either. My dad died when I was a baby, my mother never remarried, and worked a lot. My brother and I played loads of video games some of them pretty violent, watched and read a lot of violent Japanese comics or animation, yet never got in any kind of trouble, and did very well in school, always informed in what was going on in the world, and were often told we were wise for our age… Its because we had a great mother who made sure she was involved in what was going on in our world- wanted to know what we believed- and I remember getting into awesome long talks about history, politics, god, everything.

There are also games that have very little violence, or violence on PG13 level, but still not for little kids, as the themes can be way over their heads, and no I’m not talking about sexual stuff. A game I played back in 1998 and loved, had a lot of religious and psychology in it- was a good game very deep story, great graphics for its time, and awesome awesome awesome beautiful music. It was Xenogears.

Another game which I’m currently playing is Final Fantasy XIV, the bad guys of the story are portrayed as cold power hungry and godless, to mention haters of those who believe in god. The lyrics of one of the main bosses, was in Latin, and when I translated it, it summed up the character of the bad guys perfectly, and immediately reminded me of every dictator who has hated religion namely Christianity, and wanted to control man and shape man in his own image. These guys are portrayed as evil to the core.

  • September 19, 2013 at 8:27pm

Thank you, and same here. My brother and I pay huge attention to the political world- always thought that was important. When I was 12, I remember my older brother bringing home a game magazine, that talked about the making and coming of Street Fighter II, which made everyone crazy in 1992 lol. After reading that I wanted to become a game designer, and I’ve been so inspired by many of the good games, and their stories I have played, and see it as another venue to tell the story, but when Conservatives complain about it, I see yet another thing they will allow progressives to take over, and shape culture… Which is why social Conservatives annoy me.

  • September 19, 2013 at 8:20pm

Video games don’t have a lot of leftist ideology pushed in them, and the ones that do- don’t do so well. Games like Call of Duty, have always made people have more appreciation for what the guys in the military do, and the stories have been quite awesome, at least the Modern Warfare series, the old Call of Duty games used to constantly focus on WWII, which became kinda old. The developers have consulted with military, even conservative think tanks at times, and the story of this Modern Warfare series, is actually kinda scary as what goes on it, could happen in real life, because of how dumb and sloppy this country is being.

Another game developer Ubi Soft, bought the rights to a lot of Tom Clancy’s works- and again the stories are awesome, and their most anticipated game “The Division” is inspired from yet another one of Clancy’s works.

  • September 19, 2013 at 8:15pm

Main characters in GTA have always been anti-heroes, and have been white, black, and Hispanic- and the bad guys or at least their rivals have also been white black and Hispanic. In this one (my brother hasn’t yet opened it up to play it), the story revolves around 3 characters, one is a black guy- don’t remember what the other guy looked like, but the one I’ve seen in most trailers is a middle aged white male, with a family who seems to be living a double life.
