  • At least they waived the fines in NYC or San Francisco, they would have charged her regardless. She would have had to take them to court which they know would cost her more than the citation. That’s straight from the progressive playbook, that’s why they keep fining the Amish dairy farmers only to lose again and again in court. They know they’re violating the rule of law by prosecuting the Amish, but hope to force the Amish to submit to their unconstitutional regulations by bankrupting them with legal costs.

  • I feel badly for the dairy farmers, seems like they got screwed. I also feel bad for the cops/deputies that were put on the spot here. They were ordered to carry out a court order and looked like they behaved admirably, speaking in a calm voice and de-escalating an emotional situation. They seemed like they genuinely felt bad about what they had to do.

They couldn’t on camera say that they would refuse to follow a court order to disarm the locals. That was a no-win for them, if they say they won’t disarm, they’re out of a job now (and are no use later if they actually would refuse to execute the order). The fact that they wouldn’t say that they would follow the order suggests they would have reservations about doing so. Even the soldiers on YouTube that say they won’t follow illegal orders to fire on American citizens or confiscate guns do so anonymously–doing so publicly means a dishonorable discharge. You can’t say in advance you won’t follow an order–it has to be based on conflict of conscience when the order is given, not a premeditated act of disobedience to chain of command (or in this case a court order). It is clear the deputies were uncomfortable carrying out the order–but they aren’t the judges and unless there is a clear conflict of conscience, they follow the order. Milk board guy says it was tested and found unsafe, protesters say never (properly) tested–Sheriff isn’t going to make the call against the state executive branch on that evi

  • This one is easy. Get rid of the trash, inform them that the table and chairs are patio furniture, and get a small potted plant and put the flag in it. Problem solved and a thumb in the eye of the HOA.

  • If conservative women can’t have babies, who is going to pay for the “free” cable tv, internet service, food, housing, cell phones (did I miss anything?) of her listeners. Entitlement liberals better hope the rest of us keep reproducing more little slaves to their equality utopia.

  • One more thing…

Sending the dog in is not a great option. The dog is an officer of the law, the guy was armed with a deadly weapon. The life of the dog is more precious than the criminal, the dog is a cop, the criminal a violent felon wielding a deadly weapon. Sorry for the criminal’s family, but the cops were justified for at least the first 4 fight-stopping hits. That could mean 4 shots or 12. The guy with the dog was shooting unsupported with one hand while restraining a dog.

  • The shooting was absolutely justified. The criminal lunged at the cop with a deadly weapon. I train quite a bit with handguns. It’s even money between a guy with a knife and a guy with a gun inside of 10 feet (more like 25 if the gun is holstered–even if the cop is fast). This guy’s weapon was every bit as deadly as a knife. The second set of shots was excessive, but was really just a delayed reaction from the guy who was about to be attacked. Cops will put their lives in danger to protect the innocent, but will not do so (any more than absolutely necessary) to catch a violent criminal. He is a violent criminal as evidenced by him going after a cop with a deadly weapon when ordered to drop it. I’m not a cop (though I train with them), but I would do the same thing in this situation. They did shoot a bunch of bullets, don’t know how many good thoracic cavity hits they got–they weren’t really on their sights and it is easy to miss with bad technique even at close range. In any event, the guys with the camera are witness to the fact that the criminal continued to fight on the ground even after all those shots, so it’s tough to argue that they were excessive from the sidelines. Just my 2 cents.

  • It’s becoming obvious that the Dems really want to take Romney out of the race in the primary. They have an “anybody but Romney” attitude and are already spending millions on attack ads. They know they can beat Gingrich, Paul, Perry, etc. Romney is the only republican that can get significant support from independent voters and female voters. Gingrich is a dirtbag–everyone knows this yet, curiously, the Christian Right have the same policy as the Liberal Left–”Anybody but Romney.” I’m an independent and I won’t vote for Gingrich or Paul. Gingrich doesn’t have the character. Paul does, but is too wrong on foreign policy and his agenda is impossible also, he appears to be too old and frail to handle the president’s schedule. He’s an isolationist, which is a deadly mistake.

I think it’s great that the best character attack on Romney they can come up with is that he offered to bet $10K on who was right. He must be pretty clean. I’m not sold on Romney–he may be too conservative despite the claims to the contrary by the comments here. I’m not sure what I think about the fact that he’s a Mormon, though I admit that the Mormons I know are all people I’d want in my lifeboat, so to speak, so maybe his Mormonism is a strength. I don’t care what some say about whether or not Mormons are Christian–they seem to be among the most Christian people I know. Anyway, it’s easy to define someone as not being Christian when they get to control the definition.

  • seems like a huge over-reaction to me. It’s not that big of a deal, and high school kids aren’t as fragile as some are suggesting. I thought it was funny.

Where’s the “incest”? There is no intercourse here of any kind, and there is no intent to enter or continue a romantic relationship–it’s just not that big of a deal. These kids aren’t scarred for life–they’re the captains of their sports teams–the alphas of their school. Yes, they’re getting mocked, but they’re doing it in good fun. In my HS we did similar things to our captains though I’ll admit I never kissed my mom like that (I was one and got nailed a couple of times–again all in good fun). Of course, this was back when a kid could say his teacher was cute without be kicked out of school and kindergarteners weren’t charged with sexual assault for playing kissing tag. I’m sure I’ll be labeled a freak or pervert for saying it, but this doesn’t seem like that big of a deal. I guess society has just become so “sensitive” that sophomoric pranks like this shock and sicken us. We’re so easily offended–we need to just buck up and quit whining.
