Our church does have science books for kids. We believe all things science directly relate right back to God since he made science to begin with :-)
Science and Christianity are Not at odds with each other. God created science.
Don't you mean Political Science book? Everyone should have the same science or scientific methods, it is only the assumptions and conclusions that differ.
Mine just brings hers to school. Your church does that? Interesting. Too bad they dont learn science the rest of the week, Christians schools do. Should look into them, you can even bring your Bible!
Not one church nor one person would deny you!
My Dad is an electrical engineer. In addition to this, he's also been my science/math tutor, but you'd be fairly surprised to know that he's also been my Sunday School teacher.
Creation isn't in open defiance of science. In most cases, creation and science are united.
The Bible covers many topics. It could easily be a history book, law book, religious book, and even a science book, if you know the verses. The Bible talks about the winds, rain, snow, mountains, sun, moon, rivers, oceans, earth, animals, human condition and mind, and many other thins in this world that can be studied. Of course, there are some poetic and allegorical statements mixed therein, but many contain scientific facts too. There are actually many various kinds of facts therein, some that even archeology today is still proving.
Here is one passage about the sun and universe:
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork... There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. (NASA instruments have recorded pulsating electromagnetic waves from space) Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race (The sun orbits around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy). His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. (Even the official time in the US, and its synchronization, is periodically checked by astronomical orbital alignments, as are calendars) [Psalms 19:1-6]
As a catholic we would have no problem if you would like to bring a science to our church all true science belongs to God He is the master and creator of it all. However do be disruptive with it or any other book even the bible . In other words don't be disrespectful while we are reading the bible and praying to God. God always comes first!

Advice rejected. Ideas that aren’t subject to reason get no respect from me.

Evolution is a bottom up process, creationism is the opposite.
Show me one repeatable scientific experiment that proves abiogenesis.
Abiogenesis is an entirely separate set of theories (there are multiple theories known as "Abiogenesis".) None of which have conclusive evidence. The concept of complex chemistry creating life isn't that far out there, and the idea only need compete with the other standing explanation of the origin of life, which is, for all intents and purposes, magic. When you put them side by side, I'll go with the scientists crazy theories over magic any day.

Believe in 7 headed dragons if you want, just keep it out of government.
he dint saw he didnt believe in god
he just said he had an unconventional idea of whether there is one or not, and what form it may take
i though he was smart to say "“I’m not at all an atheist. I mean, of all the possible theologies, atheism is the least plausible,”
personally, i think that the hard core atheists are just as foolish as the fairyTale believers
Part of being a rabid atheist, is being totally bereft of a conscience, SEXUALLY DEVIANT, because you FEEL, that you are gods. Most Utopians are misanthropes, ADDICTED TO IDEALISM, POWER AND MONEY.
From Buddhist, William House,
One cannot break the bonds of habitual behavior without illumination (Note: Homosexuality is the WORST KIND OF AN ADDICTION-me). God’s love for each individual is boundless. In every embodiment, He will let the soul know what needs to be done to move on to the next level. Sexual misconduct is one of the most powerful acts and emotions that can hinder the soul

The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish.
Hundreds of millions of people died under godless communism during the 20th century. People thought religion was bad until atheistic governments came along.
Krauthammer's harshest critique came against atheism. He called it "the least plausible" of all possible theologies. I couldn't agree more. Atheism is very much a faith based theology.
How sad then you have no hope for the future. You could have paradise with God and Jesus and with all believers in Heaven. But if you choose not to accept Jesus as Lord then God says you will pay for your own sins which will lead you into Hell. Constant torment and lonliness in a prison cage is your eternity. While you still have time call on God and He will listen if you are willing to repent of your disbelief. Jesus took our place on the cross and died a horrible death and He took the wrath of God so we would not have to. He rose from the dead and He is the judge. Every knee will bow and tongue confess Jesus is Lord of all. I hope you will put your faith in Jesus and change your eternal future. This life is tough on Earth because of sin but God promises believers that our future is indescribable. It will be no more sin or death and we will be in the presence of Jesus forever. Please accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and you Island Atheist can have a wonderful eternity.
Hey there, Ghoulfriend, is Markie Hughes a bud of yours on Quera¿
I believe I sent the little guy around the bend.
Mark, your Pantheon are the Gay-Fabians. sorry--
(John Maynard) Keynes was characterized by his male sweetheart, Lytton Strachey, as “A liberal and a sodomite, an atheist and a statistician.”
Bigotry rears its head again, I see.
The ignorance and paranoid hate speech in that link -- and the entire concept you're describing -- is just demented religious fanaticism. That page is so irrational and hateful it borders on self-parody.
Einstein was GAY, as well as being an Atheist...SO, I'M TOLD--
"In view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able to recognize, there are yet people who say there is no God. But what really makes me angry is that they quote me for the support of such views."-Albert Einstein
That isn't possible, because Pope Francis' economics fall in line with godless Marxism. There's a reason why bureaucratic, socialist oligarchies always fail, and that is because they run against nature and nature's God.

I would like to see Ron Reagan enter politics, it would be nice to have an open atheist in one of our three branches of government.
me too. i'm sure there are quite a few non-believers in Washington right now, perhaps even in the Oval Office. still, it would be nice to have one admit it and stop pandering to America's overly religious electorate.

“I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of….Each of those churches accuse the other of unbelief; and of my own part, I disbelieve them all.” Thomas Paine From The Age of Reason, pp. 89

I’m sure there are many more atheists at that school. hopefully they’ll get the courage to come out of the closet too.
Right, you know, I'm sure the majority of religious people are atheists, too. Even most of the people on this site, probably. Even the pope and everyone who works in the Vatican!
Seriously, is there any group of people that atheists will not try to use to add a few to their number, even though those few might not even exist?
This is nothing but deceit on his part. Has nothing to do with coming out of some da mn closet. Only a coward would hide in a closet now days, idiot.
