We are in a leaking boat that will soon sink
We don't need help, we need the courage
our past generations showed.
When the boat sinks , and it soon will, conservatives
Will be weeping and Nashing their teeth, wondering
How the government TOOK away our freedoms.
The government did not take anything....We have/are
Giving them away.

Yeah, imagine how many lives would be saved if we just made alcohol illegal to consume.

A little late to post but oh well, in Canada you can walk around with a blade of any length, including a machete, so long as it’s not used offensively as a weapon. However, if you threaten or attack someone with a blade, even a two or three inch blade, it becomes an offensive weapon and you’ll be charged. Canada is much more sensible when it comes to such matters. Just wish we had the same common sense when it comes to firearms.

Um yeah, China’s air and water is sooooo clean. I guess regulated socialism / communism is no better.

You have no human right to demand access to the production and efforts of others if they are not willing to provide it. That is called enslavement.

Fire Fighters as Authorities? Yes I do know they like to consider themselves that, with their uniforms, ranks and reference to the public as “civilians”.

Yes, we Canadians are all born socialists, it’s in our DNA. Americans are all born capitalists. The Soviets were apparently correct in believing the politics of a newborn can be inherited. BTW, Canada is no more socialist than is the US.

American Indians, to their credit, tried to manipulate the natural world to their advantage as much as they could. The idea of the Noble Savage in tune with nature is largely a 19th century romantic European idea. Unfortunately many modern Indians have bought into that crap.

Ha, do you remember when “African Americans” were actually called “Afro-Americans”?

If you are assuming that inflation means rising prices then minimum wage increases add to it. So it all would just become one vicious circle.

Yeah like “working” people don’t skirt paying taxes whenever possible. So if someone tries to rob you, you should just hand over your money so he doesn’t try to rob someone else, right?

“What makes equality such a difficult business is that we only want it with our superiors”

John, if you are correct that it is all our fault, unfortunately it is too late. While we may be in their countries, we also certainly allowed them into ours, not the Islamic States, but the people. What are we to do now? Do we (the west) pull out of the ME?. That would be fine if all the Muslims returned home, but they won’t. They have a foothold and as well as momentum in the west and will not stop in their quest to spread their ideology. Perhaps we did give them both the excuse and the opportunity they desired. We should learn from our mistakes but we can’t throw up our hands and say “Oh well, we deserve this.”

As an Atheist, it’s clear to me in Genesis that the story is there was dual creationism. No incest required, and that makes perfect sense as to where Adam’s and Eve’s grandchildren came from. Now a Christian with a pea-sized brain is unable to read the Bible without the blinders on that won’t allow him to see that and just how plainly that is written. No where does it say Adam and Eve were the first people. God first created man, and then he created Adam and Eve. Go home and read your Bible tonight.

Gypsy, yet you are trying to say that because Mao and the rest were atheists, then atheists should become Christian if they want to be moral, so your statement against Blink backfires on you.
 March 18, 2016 at 3:30pm
Gypsy, to an Atheist your “Authority” is simply made up, hence you have no more authority than they do.

Regardless, for better or worse, the practice of Christianity is still a part of our history and heritage and worth understanding. Just as the pagan roots of our culture are worth understanding.
