  Teachers are not entertainers, everyone wants to blame teachers, “my kid doesnt learn that way” thrn homeschool or pay for private school. Most new teachers dont last 3 years, some have quit on the second day of class. People commenting here remember school 20, years ago, thats being a LOW INFORMATION commentor. This kid is no hero, he was in a low level class, coming back from dropping out. I wonder why he dropped out in the first place? He seems to know exactly where the discipline office is, he should graduate, and be the type of teacher he wants, check back in a year or two, guaranteed he is nowhere.

  For those of you agreeing with this kid, you think school is still the same as 10 or 20 yrs ago. Imagine lecturing with all the passion about conservtive values to kids, only to have 70%them ignore you completely, for a stupid text or tweet under the desk, now imagine this day in and day out for 10 months, and when they fail, you are at fault. How you like them apples? Oh yea and your pay sucks enough that life is barely hand to mouth. Think people. Btw the fact that he is white is a point on the blaze. Im a conservative on guns, fiscal matters, life, but this? Hell no. Society, technology and lack of parenting are to blame not teachers 80% of the time.

  Agreed, kids these days believe the world owes them something, just because you can tweet, blog or dacebook about how you feel doesnt mean the rules change for you, get a **** cut, get a job, then when you mouth off about how things should run different your ass will be fired. Btw if this was one of the black kids (majority in class) who made this speech, everyone here would be ripping him to shreds, which is the approriate response. Come on folks get real. Most the prants in this class send their kids to school becuae they cant stand them, control them, and are tired of them, free food, freebaby sitting.

  Ive had teachers in wheelchairs who have thought me more than some a hole walking around. Teachers ARE NOT entertainers, first BAN ALL CELL PHONES ON CAMPUS. Texting, mobile games and social media are Destroying this generation. TICKET THE HORRIBLE PARENTS, CUT OFF THEIR WELFARE. im all for merrit pay, but also for expulsion upon more than one year on failure. This class looks like the worst kids, which usually get the worst teachers, all the great teachers are in the AP and IB classes, and even then you get massive homework packets after class lecture and discussion
