  • “Hollingsworth has had numerous run-ins with the law . . . ”

So what is he doing out in society?

If I make it to 80, I’ll shoot first and ask questions later myself.

  • Oh, those loopy liberals and their convoluted vision of the world. Lord, help us to overcome this sort of thinking and bring the rest of America to a vision where peace and love is rewarded and hate and anger is met with derision.

  • “The award now hangs inside Hasan’s cell, below a framed letter from Osama Bin Laden, congratulating Hasan on the “successful slaughter of dozens of infidels.”

If you had any doubts about satire or not, you should have been awakened to the truth when you read that line.

  • We know very well that the left is willing to lie outright about whatever cause they are pushing at the moment. I trust nothing that the leftist organizations fund or that they produce in the way of statistics or even publications. They bend the truth to fit their own scenario. That’s it. They cannot be trusted about anything. It’s the reason I stay away from their e-mails, from their blogs, and from their publications.

  • And where does this testimony fit in with the budget issues in Wisconsin? Is this Sheriff trying to warn citizens to take an interest in their own safety or is he trying to make a statement saying that the evil Governor Walker has made it impossible for him to do his job?

If I were leading the Republican party in Wisconsin, I would approach publicly supporting this Sheriff with a lot of caution and I would phrase any public statement very carefully.

  • As a citizen of Arkansas and after reading many of the posts above, there are some things that need to be corrected in the minds of the readers.

First, Arkansas policemen & firemen are not all covered by the high falutin’ (that’s Arkyspeak for high paying) retirement plans found in most major municipalities. Yes, there are separate plans but you won’t find Arkansas police and firemen striking or doing blue outs. There would be a lot of job openings uno-pronto (that’s Arkyspeak for real fast).
Second, wait until high crime comes to your town. What are you going to do about it then? You’ll be demanding that the police do something to help protect you and you won’t care much what measures they take as long as you and your family are safe. Paragould is in the NE Delta area of Arkansas and historically they have voted Democrat, but in reality they have always been pretty conservative in nature. That district has gone Republican the last two elections and is now a pretty safe Republican seat. So don’t lash out about liberals doing this. The liberals will be the ones raising hell about it and threatening to sue use the ACLU. Trust me.

Arkansas, for it’s small size, is a very diverse state and since the Huckabee Administration, has made tremendous strides in Education and economics. Stop and think before you post things about Arkansas because believe me, everything associated with Arkansas exists right in your state too.

  • To Yaman: You object to the fact that someone is overweight? Who are you to object to anything that someone else does with his/her own body as long as what that person does is within the legal boundaries of our society? Evidently, you wish to take away the basic rights of Americans beginning with what and how much we can put into our mouths.

My daughter is a health freak and although her chosen profession bugs me, her lifestyle does not. She can choose to take whatever supplements she feels will maintain her body in a healthy manner and enrich her life through exercise. I just don’t want her trying to push that onto my lifestyle, particularly at my age. Let me die with a Twinkie in my hand, so to speak and no, I am not morbidly obese.

SO, take your self serving attitude and stick it where the sun doesn’t shine. And when you and Michelle come with your new laws in an attempt to make me weigh 175 lbs again, you’ll find me defending my right to eat what I want to with the same tools I will use to defend my rights under the 2d Amendment.

  • Well grounded? Read my post that I just left.

  • From the website of the Heisman Trophy Trust: “The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work.”
The Heisman voters from across the nation demonstrated that they either no longer care about the stated qualifications of the Heisman award or that they are so shallow that they got c aught up in the hype of the “Death Star” (ESPN), or that they were simply too lazy to do their homework. So let’s take a look. A mere 6 months ago, “Johnny Football” as Manziel has become known, was arrested for disorderly conduct, failure to identify and for using a fake ID. In a report from the Manhattan Mercury (Manhattan, KS), his father had to bribe him with cars to be a “model citizen”. Compare that with the excellence and integrity of Manti Te’o and Collin Klein who placed second and third respectively in the voting. Teo’ is a model of great citizenship and personal faith and integrity. Collin Klein’s story is one that should jump out to every voter as the ideal of a Heisman Trophy winner. Home schooled, a devout Christian who lives his faith. His teammates say he epitomizes every one of his college coaches 16 points for success. We have witnessed the death of celebrating those stated virtues upon which the Heisman should be awarded, if it ever was to begin with.

  • Well Bill. You just made it a sure thing that every time I go to Branson, I’m going to be dining at the Moon River Grill and taking in a show at the Andy Williams Theatre.
