Just gotta laugh at you target shooters that want to bash police for their shooting skills when their adrenaline is already pumping form a high speed chase, then they are shot at and return fire at a moving target. No where does it say 8 officers returned fire. In fact, you can’t even tell from the video how many shots were fired. The bad guy was hit and captured no police or bystanders were injured which means it was a good day. Why don’t you target shooters go try what they just did and see how you do. Better yet go find a f.a.t.s. machine and see how many times you fail a scenario by either being shot yourself because you missed the target on the screen or failed to react fast enough. Until you have been there you have no room to speak. I have been there. Have a nice day.
Since you've got the expertise to take down the bad guy down pat you just need to brush up on your reading comprehension. Per the article: at least eight of them appeared to return fire, KCBS reported, with one bullet hitting the suspect on live TV.
Well spoken, it's a lot different when it's "real time", what these people don't understand is all the factors you mentioned. The FATS training brings a different role every time, it puts a different perspective to being out there in "real time".
You hit the nail on the head jcidwi -- Trying to hit a moving target is not at all like the arm chair wannabes who fire at the range. Been there and done that too. At times you get so pumped up that you do not remember every detail. My hat off to these guys. At least they get to go home today and sleep in their own beds.
I’m a former Marine Combat Veteran, a Certified Marksmanship Instructor AND a former Deputy Sheriff. By the time I reached my 19th birthday, I was a Veteran Infantryman and I knew how to remain calm during a firefight and put my shots where they needed to go.
Afterward, I might go off by myself and shake like a dog passing peat seeds, but during the fight, I took care of business.
I’ve trained Cops to handle shooting situations the same way we did in the Infantry. It takes a LOT of practice and repetition – the sort of training that few Departments want to pay for. And it also seems like the larger the Department, the less likely they are to train their people in the procedures that could improve their performance and save their lives. That isn’t “second-guessing” or “armchair quarterbacking”; that’s experience and training.
to another... that's been a concern since the doj been selling full auto m 16 to local police not many if any can afford the ammo for the beat cop to safely use a full auto m 16 in civilian duty my local town got 50 and i have heard of no extra training set or orders to keep them on 1 shot fire
Absolutely right, jr. If the local yokels ever get into a serious standoff/firefight, you know darned well that somebody will want to go "Rock-n-Roll". Sure do hope that someone is one of the few with experience at it.
Of course, depending on the situation, they may not be much of a concern for too awfully long. They just may not be able to hang on to the things.
Really? Well hey I'm a combat vet and former code enforcement officer. Been there, done that so I guess I have room to speak. But I happen to agree with you. Seems like the cops did the job right on this one.
jdl And your point is????

I don’t understand why people actually still listen to or pay to watch Glenn. If you can’t see that he has sold out you are simply blind.
Jc, I agree, Glenn sold out a couple of years ago. I think he's afraid to speak the truth on some issues (he's afraid of the P.C. crowd.) and second, he's trying to play the field to keep as many listeners as possible. More listeners equals more money. I think he is more poisonous to the conservative movement than anyone. He has a lot of influence with the people turning in to hear him. I actually consider him a traitor.
So (respectfully) why are you here or even commenting? Perhaps you should go outside and get some sun. Read a book. Read the bible or join a militia (if that is your thing). Take a cruise. Bottom line if you are so convinced that he has "sold out" you could probably find much better use of your time. Cheers.

Well said MsMonsoon, But you know they will do that and another note. Fox news is no better than the others. After all why did Chris Wallace even have to ask an abortion question? He was just trying to get Walker in a ringer for his GOP and RINO buddies.

You are correct. That is why they want to pass this. Make no mistake they are coming for the guns. They are communists and communists always do.

You nailed it grandma. And have no doubt he is controlled by others.

I thought the same thing SoulRat. When they named the capitol of our country after a pagan moon goddess and put her statue on the top of the capital building, what do people expect to be running this country.

Wow some of you people are so easily fooled. So she can sing yeah. Glenn likes her Yeah. She complimented Glenn, oh yeah she must be good. Really? I mean really? Forget the trash and garbage she has been putting into the minds of our kids for years, because she can sing and Glenn likes her and she likes Glenn. No wonder we are in so much trouble.
There is nothing at all wrong with what he is doing. We encourage good behavior by rewarding it when it occurs.

Last night I was watching The Walking Dead. A show I really enjoyed until last night. For some reason they decided we needed to see two men embrace in a wet sloppy kiss. I don’t know what that has to do with people trying to survive a zombie apocalypse but I immediately turned it off. Rick and the gang will just have to survive without my ratings now. It is really irritating when shows decide to throw an agenda at you after they have established a following.
I agree. It completely turned me off to the show, too. I won't be watching after last night's episode.

Socialism hell, fascism is more like it. HOA’s are evil entities only enjoyed by those they give power to.

Oh imagine my surprise that the focus of this article is the fact a man is selling a book.

My thoughts exactly. Haven’t listened to Glenn for some time but just checking the blaze on a periodic basis reminds me why I got disenchanted with the Glenn Beck train and got off.

Personally I don’t see the need to showboat. Some do and that is their choice.

Mormon’s. Need I say more.

The Blaze fell for the hype as well. Yesterday they had an alert saying they would be providing live coverage. LMAO at them. When are people going to learn that the weather guys are in on the agenda of controlling the people. Every story they have about impending weather is always filled with doom and gloom. Just check out weather.com regularly and you will see that is what they do. I mean come on they are naming winter storms now, like they are some type of hurricane. Because of them people flock to the grocery store and clean out he shelves of milk, eggs, and bread. I heard this time they even cleaned out the toilet paper. People act like they will be stranded for weeks. It’s absolute insanity.
is there a popular news site that doesn't promote doom and gloom for the majority of their stories?
Gn8-the-Questioner, of course I don't want the extreme of no forecasters, just quit the hype! Here in Memphis, they hype the risk of tornadoes. Until recently, they would have the whole city hiding behind their toilets until they gave the "All clear". Thankfully, now they realized people were getting tired of them crying "Wolf" for nothing, and they have began narrowing the warnings to just the path of the tornado. When they cry "Wolf" for every gust of wind, people ignore their warnings, and this can result in more fatalities. Better yet, the weathermen can do their own thing, but learn how to read the weather map yourself and you can probably do a better job of predicting the weather than they can. They confuse themselves over-analyzing with all their technology and forget to use common sense. Personally, I rely on my husband and my neurotic dog when it comes to predicting thunderstorms. They are better than the weathermen!

My wife carries all the time. Women’s clothes don’t make it impossible so don’t use that as an excuse. If you are trying to carry some kind of cannon then yes, that can even be difficult for some men depending on build, but there are plenty of 380′s, 38′s and single stack 9 mm’s that can be carried concealed under women’s clothing. I won’t suggest a purse for carry except as a last resort, as I am a firm believer in needing to have absolute control and it should be carried on your person.
jci: I write books on concealed carry. A woman can keep her hand on a revolver with a semi-shrouded hammer and simply shoot right through her purse at an attacker. In fact, when a woman is alone in a parking lot, she should have her hand on her gun. Maybe you've heard about "Situational Awareness" but never understood it. In real life danger, you don't have time to pontificate. You act or you die. Get it?
I started with an LCP. Couldn't shoot it straight to save my life. Ended up with a P380 whuch I can shoot but it bulges out of my pants advertising itself. I've tried the bellyband and can't go to the bathroom. I don't carry purses often because people like to grab those.

Glad to say I just renewed to a lifetime NRA membership last week. And I love the American Rifleman magazine. Who is this Bryant Gumball anyway?

Homeschoolers, Preppers, and Christians. Are you ready folks. If not this should wake you up. A raid for some legal supplement that can morph into a bleach? A warrant was really issued for this? These folks should easily win a law suit but they shouldn’t have been put through this to begin with.
The judge that signed that warrant would think is in trouble also.

Oh so the St Louis Police Chief is going to use this to push for stricter gun control laws here in Missouri. Now we know the biggest reason the Ferguson riots were allowed to happen. This alone should tell you it is all about taking our freedoms away. If the police had clamped down on the rioters to begin with, would these things be happening? Notice that the persons doing the shooting were criminals. Not one iota of gun control laws will stop that from happening and they know it. They just want more of us law abiding citizens to die helplessly at the hands of criminals.
