    I am used to Memphis doing this stuff–erasing history is par for the course here. I have ancestors who fought in the Civil War on the Confederates side. They never owned a slave in their lives–they were poor dirt farmers who disagreed with the Federal government and did not want them “invading” their homes. Ignoring their history is a disservice to us all. The Civil War was a complicated mass of conflicting opinions–erasing the existence of the “losing” side does no one any good!
