  I still think you’re an interloper though. And I just can’t stand the smug, arrogant way in which you Brits pretentiously sway and swagger about. I lived in London 20 years ago (had to because of my old job) and I COULD NOT WAIT to get back home. Btw, I’m Irish. So I guess you could say I have a bit of a problem with you “Proper Englishmen”. Oh,…. wait,…. I’m throwing up again. Ugh!
  Yeah, I guess you could say I don’t care for your kind very much. Old enemies die a slow death I guess. But enough of that.

  Though we have/had our differences and some spirited volleys, I must say that I learned a lot from you and I am very, very sorry to hear of your layoff. No matter what side you’re on, that is a lousy break. I’ve been out of work for close to 2 years now so I know what it feels like. I’m really sorry.

  Actually New Rochelle is 3 towns away from Rye and there are 2 rivers that separate the towns. One of them runs along the border of Rye and meets up with the Mamaroneck river. Both empty into Mamaroneck Harbor. They are very small rivers, easily overlooked on a map, but there nonetheless.

  Religion on state property. Maybe they could attach a steeple and rededicate the building and call it, “The First Church of Christ The Bureaucrat”. Hey, I’m liking this! We’d be funded with tax dollars,… and be tax exempt at the same time. Brilliant! :-D

  I’m surprised nobody mentioned the sign directly above the plaque.
  This is a Government building containing Government offices staffed by Government workers doing Government business. This is NOT a church. It is NOT a religious institution. I don’t receive communion at town hall just as don’t buy a dog license from a priest. But someone sees fit to instal a plaque at the entrance to town hall proclaiming a religious association to my local Government,… along with warning.
  “Obey these 10 commandments,… because we’re watching you”.
  Nope. I see no problem here. :-/

  Is that so? You seem to enjoy “having it both ways”.
  In one post you say, “I live here, there is no going home “. In another post you say, “I live in England”. So which is it? Are you a citizen of the U.S.? Or are you a guest enjoying all that America has to offer while taking advantage of the opportunity to criticize Americans for being Americans?
  It’s one thing to be an American and exercise your rights in your own country. It’s something entirely different to come to America, enjoy it’s freedoms and opportunities and then have the balls to criticize the American way of life because it “Offends” your English sensibilities.
  You Brits really crack me up! We Americans bail your sorry asses out of two world wars and you want to tell us how to behave. America is far from perfect, but the last thing we need is advice from the Brits on how to run things. That’s why FREE MEN who believe in liberty and freedom from oppression said F YOU to British rule and started our own nation. If you don’t like America, don’t live here. Otherwise, enjoy your stay and shut the hell up. You are a guest. Behave accordingly.
