I suppose that the City can add anything they want to the water system, right? Naperville not only “owns” the monopoly, but rights the laws forbidding citizens to purchase power from other companies, like the rest of our enlightened neighboring communities. They are already 1.7 million over budget and free cash flow is sinking like a rock. The city also controls all zoning and ordinances controlling alternative energy installations. The unelected city manager also hired the non police (the city attorney argued this ridiculous position) Police Chief, that they just voted to allow to double dip in his pension, that went out and arrested these two moms.

I don’t put my cell phone in a baby’s crib, I don’t stand in Front of a microwave 24/7, I turn off our wify at night. My home, my choice. I won’t subject babies to RF in our family room or play areas and not paying a government monopoly 25% more every month to protect my family. You are free to put a cell phone to your head, or your kids head all day long. Don’t force me to accept your safer theories, using my kids as your guinea pigs. How obnoxious to force me to accept unproven technology on my family

Gee, if ComEd would have this problem, they would have called the local police, who I’m sure would have handled this much better. But the City owned electric monopoly also controls the jobs of the police. Isn’t it strange how these moms were arrested on ordinance violation and “evesdropping” laws that have been struck down by the Federal courts and Illinois Supreme Court? Heavy hand because moms are plaintiffs in Federal litigation against the city? This is the same city which kangaroo quasi judicial hearing also denied 4,000 petitioners to put a non binding referendum on the ballot. regarding the smart meter issue. The Illinois State Attorney ruled that their hearing violated the Open Meetings Act. Chicago style politics meet Naperville. Who’s getting arrested next? I wonder if the unelected “city manager” has a list

You are not telling the whole story. The meters being installed in Naperville also have a “kill” switch that can be programmed to turn off power, with a penalty time out, if the consumer uses too much energy. The data from y our home is stored indefinitely. Naperville just introduced their so called TOU (time of use billing) option that considers the hours of noon until 9:00 PM “peak” and “critical peak” which will cost about 3-4 times the rate. So if you avoid using your home during half your waking hours, Naperville figured that the homeowner could save $1.00 a month. Wow, what a return on investment! This is all one big scam to inventory each family energy use (oops carbon tax time, force consumers to pay a whole lot more for a whole lot less, eventually sell family use patterns, law enforcement, and a heyday for lawyers to supoena for disability claims, unemployment, divorce etc. this is progressive technology, alright.

My electric bill is about $90.00 a month, but the city wants to charge $24.75 each month just to read the non-wireless meter. Of course, they say they have to use a special technician and a laptop to down load all my family’s minute to minute energy use to store indefinitely and share as law requires. It’s my opinion, that the extortion like fees are to discourage families from opting out. Read about the vast wireless mesh network that has been built over our city. Our homes now have been confiscated to be used as commercial transmitting stations, without our consent, against our will and without compensation.
