  Why does Canada need to reinvent the wheel? Apparently, Sweden, the inventor of paper money, is going to get rid of paper and coins soon because of their digital monetary system. So, ask the Swedes what they are doing. As for me, I’m not interested in giving up my cash. Heck, we shouldn’t have left the Gold standard either. Imagine all of your “credits” being wiped out. No thanks. When you pay with currency, it is real.

  I’m not sure the employee should be blamed for this. What does it say that his management and org never picked up on this? Obviously, the org is not run well. Sounds like he kept himself out of trouble by staying low. Of course, if he was purposefully dodging his work, that is not good, but ultimately, his supervisors should have picked up on it and dealt with him.

  Either you do not live in Portland, Seattle or SF, or, if you do, you are a Socialist yourself. Honestly, if I didn’t live out here in this socialist dump, I probably wouldn’t believe it myself. But I have seen it with my own eyes. I get to see it everyday. Nothing like the city going through my recycle container to ensure compliance with the recycling rules lest I get a citation or summons or something. Nothing is voluntary out here. Things are turning into forced compulsion. Yes, I know, I just said the same thing twice, but it is worth repeating myself on this. Portland and Oregon positively suck. The only redeeming factor about the place is the good beer, made by capitalists of course!

  Have you ever heard of a place called the University of Oregon? Seems to me that Eugene is offended that ANYONE would be considered more socialist or anarchist than them. This has been going on for years. I feel more “normal” when I am in Berkley v. being in Eugene.

  I could actually enroll in that class as I am about 10 miles from the school. However, I am sure that if I did, a riot would ensue, I would be deemed the cause, and kicked out of school. Of course, WGAS, I already have a BA and a JD. It’s not like I need it. This would be the happiest F I have ever earned! I may do it.

  I agree with you when it comes to the country at large, and sure enough, these d’bags want all of America to change. For example, when you go to the store to buy Sudafed and have to show ID and only get a limited quantity, you can thank Oregon for that. They tried to ban Sudafed here. I have to leave the state to get it, otherwise, I am required to make a doctor’s appointment and have an MD write me a script for it. Ridiculous. But these people out here think they can make it happen, and have under-taken a lot of steps to make Oregon a Socialist state. To live here is to understand them. I have suggested over the years that a Berlin Wall be built around this state to keep these inmates inside of their self-created asylum. Just let me get out first. Thank you.

  I believe you. I suspect that we would see more of this on the west and upper east coasts. But do we see “laboratory application” of the principles? Someone above said that this is where PSU goes too far. They do. This course get on the course list at the University of Havana or the old Moscow State University under the Soviets. The only difference that I can see is that PSU allows for one class period for “arguments against socialism” and “can it happen here”. In Cuba or the old USSR, you wouldn’t see a class period for this as they would not allow arguments against and it has already happened here. Maybe they would have a class session devoted to, “can it happen in the United States?”. These are my first two posts. This story motivated me to register and post. I am OUTRAGED!

  Lord help me! I live in Portland right now, unfortunately. I am originally from one of the largest and culturally diverse cities in the South. I can’t stand living here. I was about 30 when I moved here from Orange Co., CA. Had no idea the place was radically different. Been here for a bit over 10 years. The place has radicalized even more during my time here. And now the public universities, to whom I pay a huge income and property tax to, is indoctrinating area kids in Marxism and marxist application? Unreal. I have to escape this place, and will. I can see way down the road an Oregon that is not part of the United States, but rather a smaller socialist/marxist country, which may include places like Washington, CA and even British Columbia. I have to get my kids out of here. Luckily, we have no other family here, so not too many roots. Also, do not forget the Univ. of Oregon prof who is in London right now telling everyone that our government here should drug us or re-educate those who deny climate change.
