  • @The_Doors

The Scientific Method cannot be used to prove anything, therefore, your request is nonsensical.

  • Mr. Alcede, this was CNN, Piers Morgon on CNN! What made you think you were going to get treated any differently?

  • As much as it pains me to say this, Gen Petraeus stopped being an honorable man when he began the extramarital affair. If he truly was honorable, he would not have waited until he was outed to resign, and would have made sure the honor and dignity of his wife were protected.

Geraldo keeps proving he is the same moron disgraced himself nationally when he opened the empty vault that was supposed to hold Al Capone’s treasures.

  • Wow! Talk about playing fast and loose with words. Exactly what does “Christian” mean in the context of this article?

  • So, are you forgiving him for “my ill chosen words last night. After watching the interview I realize that what I said did not accurately make the point I was trying to establish. More importantly I apologize to all Christians, Jews and other people of faith for any embarrassment or anger my remarks may have caused.”

Or are you forgiving him for holding the beliefs he very clearly, very emphatically expressed?

Because he obviously did not misspeak, he said EXACTLY what he meant, it’s just that what he believes is disgusting.

  • “Theirs not to reason why, theirs but to do and die…” always sound like courageous words, but they should never be the words that describe American military personnel, or American citizens for that matter.

As military personnel our oath is to defend the CONSTITUTION from all enemies, foreign AND domestic. That oath means we are not granted the simplicity of silently with blind obedience marching into the valley of Death. No! That is NOT the American spirit!

We The People made sure that our rights were PROTECTED from the eventual tyranny of government. No American should endeavor to stand in the company of the criminals at Nuremberg who believed “I was following orders” was a valid defense for their actions.

What this administration has done to our country, what it wants to accomplish with another four years is not something ANY service member should be comfortable with, nor something they should be complicit in. This is not the time for the SOF community to use Old Glory as a blinder, to hide behind some incorrect belief that their service renders them as lesser citizens than those they serve to protect, requiring them to stand mute as the Constitution is raped by a domestic enemy.

  • Still trust!? Heck, I haven’t trusted ABC News for a few decades now.

  • Taking them in order:

#1 Pointing out that one is supposed to love a person despite whatever sins they have committed (whether we know of a specific one or not) is in no way a comment on the lack of, or the lower severity of our own sins. We love the sinner BECAUSE we also are sinners and rest on God’s grace. The author seems to take the most negative perspective possible on this one.

#2 I agree that one has to be very clear on what the Bible does and does not “Clearly” say, but one would have to really take things out of context to say the Bible condones slavery.

    #3 Agree.

#4 If one really pays attention to Jesus’s last command, one will notice it says to “make disciples” not run around asking perfect strangers if they want to “be saved,” so I agree.

    #5 Good point.

#6 Kind of nitpicky. The foundational values are Christian.

    #7 Good point.

#8 God did not give a command against incest until much later, so this shows a picky, shallow perspective on Scripture.

#9 I don’t know, given that Jesus pushed personal responsibility and seems to speak out against a victim mentality (the woman at the well as an example) and told his followers to take care of each other, that is relying on each other, not rely on a government, he seems quite conservative. I believe a good point can be made that the whole of the Bible speaks out against government and it’s corruptive power.

#10 Fair point, but the author seems to have a “pro gay” agend

  • I’m in complete agreement with this female soldier.

Women should be allowed to compete for positions in Infantry/Ranger/SPECOPS etc., but they have to do so at the current standards, there should be no “accommodations” made.

There probably are few women who could meet the standards, but then again, there are also few men who can.

  • If you argue with someone about their beliefs most likely what you see is that they dig in. But if you share God’s love with them there is no argument, but you leave them having to explain something that is illogical, maybe even irrational, but still very real and very powerful.
