“When the inmost parish life is given up to the direct guardianship of the State, and the repair of the belfry of a country church requires a written order from the entral power, a people is in its dotage. Men are thus nurtured in imbecility, from the dawn of social life. When the central government feeds part of the people it prepares all to be slaves. When it directs parish and county affairs, they are slaves already. The next step is to regulate labor and its wages. “

It is the force of the people that sustains all these despotisms, the
basest as well as the best. That force acts through armies; and these
oftener enslave than liberate. Despotism there applies the RULE. Force
is the MACE of steel at the saddle-bow of the knight or of the bishop in
armor. Passive obedience by force supports thrones and oligarchies,
Spanish kings, and Venetian senates. Might, in an army wielded by
tyranny, is the enormous sum total of utter weakness; and so Humanity
wages war against Humanity, in despite of Humanity. So a people
willingly submits to despotism, and its workmen submit to be despised,
and its soldiers to be whipped; therefore it is that battles lost by a
nation are often progress attained. Less glory is more liberty. When the
drum is silent, reason sometimes speaks. (Apprentice)

The issue is instantly framed when the term pro choice is used. the issue is not about the liberty of making a choice. The issue is regarding the legality of the abortion procedure. The spin free debate and the honest/truthful approach uses language that identifies and addresses the issue. Associating “pro-choice” to the abortion issue is a coercive technique that elicits an emotional response of “don’t you touch my liberty” and hides the issue being discussed via a verbal prestidigitation. On the other side the term pro-life does not do the same thing, the starting point is different, the pro life argument addressed the sanctity of human life and encompasses abortion, capital punishment and other related issues. However when discussing abortion, every one is quick to encamp and dig trenches (a very world war one style of engagement).
The issue is the legitimacy of abortion as birth control. As a social norm Abortion destroys the fabric of society by debasing the value of human life to the convenience of a pet. Most commonly cited reason for not continuing with a pregnancy? It isn’t convenient right now.
Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness: if you can’t the the first one right you will never, ever, see the next two.
I only wish your post was longer. Nice job clarifying the premise and language, it helps
I agree with you. When abortion is framed as the sanctity of life vs a woman's right to choose, the debate is rigged in favor of the pro abortion position. The left is constantly doing this and unfortunately conservatives often take the bait. They are doing the exact same thing with same sex marriage. They frame the issues as marriage equality vs. the sanctity of marriage.
"The issue is regarding the legality of the abortion procedure. "
I think the issue is when a baby has person-hood rather than the legality of abortion. If you establish that a woman is pregnant with a baby, the legality of the issue becomes self evident.
This is another example of a supposedly objective journalist showing how biased she is. Her article was proposing a strategy to help planned parenthood.
has anyone ever thought of having a 9-month waiting period on all abortions?

With all the technology, and the vast body of knowledge in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, why can’t we produce life from scratch?
What is nothing and is there a such thing? if so where did stuff come from? If not then how do we understand chronology as there would be an infinite number of moments before this instance in time and there would be no resolution of now.
Doesn’t evolution and the advancement of a species grate against the second law of thermodynamics in that the closed system of the universe is moving toward greater entropy?

People still bow to idols.. we are no more sophisticated today than 3000 years ago, only the idol has become more advanced in its ability to implant harmful thoughts and ideas. in a typical American home there is a configuration of furniture that focuses the attention on a single object. this object is focused on and stared at by the worshipers for hours at a time. Food is consumed in a mindless and trance like fashion on the alter (coffee table) of this idol. The Idol tells the worshiper what to wear, drive, and buy; how to act and what to think.
The idol used to say, “we now interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for this important announcement”
The question: Who was being programmed? What are they being programmed to do?
This weekend when you are watching “the Game” in the midst of this glorified battle, KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BA’AL
