Another article to knock Trump from the Blaze. I love how the man who put more people to work than the rest of the candidates combined is being insinuated as stupid. Also, the article insinuates those who like Trump are stupid.
Totally agree with you. Some of the hatred shown towards Trump .. and any normal Americans remotely agreeing with him.. .. on the Blaze is truly reminiscent of 3rd and 4th grade jealous schoolyard bully tactics .. Stuff we've gotten used to obama pulling.
I can't hate Trump. But I do want to feel bad for him and the people that want to pick him as president. I don't consider him a serious enough candidate if he uses emotion to make his point instead of facts. I'll vote Democrat if that's the case. I don't like Communism but I just want to make the pendulum swing in the right direction for once. Competency is lacking in our country and we'll soon see millions of voters with voters remorse...again. I've never experienced voters remorse because every candidate I voted for I knew exactly what their aspirations were and what the political climate (Congress) looked like at the time so I could determine what was going to happen before it happened. A lot like political chess or political calculus. I don't see many people with that ability around me and it worries me. But I digress...communism and fascism will kill them off easily and they will never see it coming.
Common Core/Bill Gates/Pearson grading scale.
How in the hell is Sanders speaking at a 10th grade level? Seriously. Everyone with ears has already heard him speak. I bet he's still trying to finish Sunburst (Houghton Mifflin reading series) for crying out loud....
Yeah, Boston Globe, we know who you're pulling for.
So according to this chart the low info voters will only understand Trump!
All the others use words that low info voters don't understand or comprehend...so the low info voters will also vote for Trump because he is the only one they can understand!
Unreal how ALL of the media try to get their candidates elected and try to knock out all of the others...the media is no different than a street whore standing on the corner!
Hmmm...simple to understand means more votes for him? Yeah one more reason to vote Donald in 2016!
Buckle up, it is going to get a lot more vicious. I have been saying for years. Who ever the media and the establishment is against that is the guy you need to vote for. Trump could be the establishments worse nightmare even if he only accomplishes half of what he says he will do!!!
I only hope the people tune out what is coming and stick to Trump's anti media anti establishment message. Time will tell. Remember the media tried to destroy Reagan before, during and after his presidency, but the people tuned them out.
Trump/Carson ticket would drive the media and establishment absolutely insane. Additionally, it will set up a real constitutional American up for the presidency after Trump is done.
The story is about what The Boston Globe is reporting. What I find most disturbing is that they have Dr Ben Carson speaking at just under a 6th grade level. Oh well, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?
So the globe uses bigger words than a neurosurgeon......or a developer.....and this means what exactly?
"Another article to knock Trump from the Blaze."
Yep, and big shocker that it's posted by alphaphobe "fancy boy" O-le-vah Dah-see.
This is TOO FUNNY.
I wonder what the Over-Under was on this. My money was on a 6th grader. I guess I was giving him too much credit.
Oh this is priceless 'reporting'.
They are not insulting Trump. They are insulting his supporters. What they are really saying is that he speaks at a 4th grade level so his supporters will understand what he's saying.
Every time I see an article like this on the Blaze I go back to supporting Trump and will vote for him.
Rating on a Grade Level Scale is common practice in College term paper writing. Example, Wall Street Journal was rated on a 7th Grade Scale.
Appears that Trump supporters are quite sensitive. The Post is not referring to Trumpbots as stupid. Idolizing The Donald, possible.
" I love how the man who put more people to work than the rest of the candidates combined is being insinuated as stupid"
Curious, does that mean someone like George Soros would be a good candidate.....Since you are basing the qualification on number of employees.
So if this site runs a news article that does not worship Lord Trump it is a hit piece? Seems the 4.1 Reading level fits.
Trump speaks at the level that most Americans can understand...it's called clear and concise.
Since government schools fail the American people everyday in educating them properly.
Don't try telling me what grade level presidential candidates should be communicating at.
Trump is still #1, will be #1, and communication is why. He wrote the book on it.
Funny thing, What grade level does Donald Trump speak at? That's not a proper sentence in the headline. At should be the first word in the sentence, not the last.
Oliver Darcy is the author...that's all you need to know. He's a hit man going after Trump.
This article isn't to put Trump down but to explain why he is popular. The truth is most adults have a 4th to 5th grade understanding because we lost most of the higher grades understanding due to lack of use. Trump is so popular because his message can be understood by the majority of people. If anything this is a lesson in how to get people to understand you.
You know who else appearantly wrote at a 4.0 grade level...Ernest Hemingway.
I guess he is just as dumb as Trump.
I learned everything I needed to know in kindergarten.
When a neurosurgeon is speaking at a 6th grade level, this tells me all I need to know.
All the career politicians are highly coached and prepped with their talking points, in order to appear more intelligent, and trying to impress the masses with their "elite" knowledge.
I prefer short and to the point.
Hell, based on Glenn's rapid fire questions with Carson, the good Dr would be speaking at a 2 year-old level.
Typical lib attack. Republican is stupid. GW Bush flew fighter jets. Al Gore spouts erroneous science. Stupid like the smartest woman in the room(today too at her hearing) who just didn't see the threat to american security by having an unsecured server. Yeah, right.
I don't consider this a knock. Trump does ramble on and repeat himself at times. He talks in run-on sentences and negates sentences for phrases. If calling a spade a spade is a knock to you, then I guess the truth doesn't interest you much.
The question is, how much does anyone care how sophisticated one speaks? If the speaker can be understood, what does it matter?
So quit taking offense and whining about everything in regards to articles on Trump.
I know. It's almost to the point where I would vote for Trump just to spite the Trump Bashers
I agree they should only report good news on trump...
exactly, this is one of the stupidest articles yet.. a sad attempt to degrade trump while also attempt to legitimize it by including the other candidates.. wasn't even a nice try
He has to speak at the level of a 4th grader so that the Bush supporters and the establishment Republicans and other progressives can understand him.
Really? Do you actually believe that his rhetoric is actually anything more than than grunts and body noises? I'm surprised that he was rated at a 4th grade level.
Trump supporters are stupid. That's why they are Trump supporters.
Whaaa someone is not speaking good things about the simpleton that I want to president! You mean people at the Blaze!
Uh, wheres Hilly?
I am no Trump fan, but this is a dumb article.
johngaltdfw.....stupid is saying something and then acting as if you never said that even though there is audio of you saying exactly what you claim you never said.
Stupid is worshiping a guy that held some of the most despicable libs in high esteem as being a great candidate for president even though you disagree with the political and moral ethics of those same libs.
Actually, it’s the reverse. It’s not an article to knock Trump. Stating things simple enough for a child to understand them is one of the best qualities in a communicator. This isn’t just me saying this either. One of the things I was taught in university public communications class (public speaking) was that you have to know your audience. If your audience is everybody, then you have to speak in the most basic and simple terms possible.
If you use any word or concept that somebody might not understand, then you have to do something called “unpacking”. You have to unpack a statement, a term, a phrase, etc. If you are describing technical things, you have to unpack all the technical terms. If you are describing a foreign concept, something people don’t encounter in their everyday lives, then you have to unpack that as well.
That’s why people love Trump. It’s not because they’re stupid or uneducated, it’s because he is simple and uses common sense. He may not have the vocabulary or conciseness of people like Bernie Sanders or Mike Huckabee, but he doesn’t need to be. He’s running on commonality and easy-to-understand concepts.
In fact, the hallmark of a Politically Correct person is that they refuse to utilize common sense. If you're against political correctness, then common sense and simple language are your greatest tools to defeat it.
This is such pap. Trump and Carson are a couple of geniuses, but they're at the bottom on the list.
Trump is the only one smart enough to speak at the level of the average American voter, sadly.
Having worked with Congressional campaigns in the past, it tragic to see that only 50% of eligible American voters are even registered to vote. We knew who they were and we spent weeks knocking on their doors trying to convince them to participate in their duty as citizens. Most were living in above average neighbourhoods, had above average education and seemed to know what was going on in politics. Most just did not like the political process and just did not want to be bothered .
Short of mandatory voting laws, I do not how to change the attitudes of better educated potential voters.
Ridiculous hit piece. It's like something a 4th grader would write.
Just the opposite ... Trumps language is understood by more voters.
What nonsense...........Look where Dr. Carson "A BRAIN SURGEON" and Ted Cruz "A WORLD CLASS DEBATE CHMPION" and "A MAN WHO HAS ARGUED CASE LAW BEFORE THE SCOTUS" are rated.
The people who put this chart together must think at a 1st grade level.
He is speaking to the American public. Most of whom have a public school education and get their news from the Daily Show and Entertainment Tonight. He still may be speaking at two or even three grade levels over their head!
Actually, the level one speaks at is important, especially for a president. The ideal for public speeches is somewhere between the 8th to 10th grade level. Too low, and one ends up with a simplistic level of speaking that usually appeals to pathos (emotion) rather than logic (logos). Too high, and one often ends up with a scholarly speech that may be suited for a college lecture, but fail to resonate or persuade the common man.
A good speaker should strive for a balance of logos (logical persuasion, such as hard data), ethos (credibility, such as honesty and a track record of getting things done), and pathos (emotional appeal, such as examples of real people or from one's own experience).
Donald Trump, unfortunately, fails very much when it comes to honesty, consistency, and presenting data, which hurts him when it comes to logos and ethos. He is strong when it comes to emotional appeal, and certain aspects such as his business experience help him with ethos.
This is probably why he received a lot of early support, and still has many loyal fans, as emotional appeals do wonderfully for igniting passion and fervor. Obama took advantage of that in his campaigns. However, Trump has lost a lot of support over time as inconsistencies show, as he has revealed several very liberal/progressive beliefs, and as too much emotional appeal can actually backfire if not backed via substance or logic.
I was to throw away beck's books which I bought before he was senseless or crooked I think, but then I decided to give away to the liberal friends in case they might convert in making up for the people that might be persuaded by beck's insanity or was he bought by the richness of the left?
Trump is easy to knock.
He’s a guy that was born with a silver spoon. People act as if he’s a self made man. He made his money by getting money from daddy, protecting his money from the several bankruptcies he’s run his businesses through, and purchasing favors from politicians he helped corrupt.
He says “illegal alien” and the morons among us think that makes him a hero; so much so they neglect his changing stance on the second, his constant stance on private property state subjugation, and belief in government run universal healthcare.
Donald Trump is a Bubba’s slime ball. He demonstrates that constantly.
That statement is just as brave, and correct, as saying illegal alien. People not in this country legally are in fact illegal aliens. Donald Trump is a slime ball. People in my city, good people, we’re screwed by Donald Trump and his con artist BS tower he collected money for only to walk away from the project with hundreds of thousands of their dollars leaving them nothing to show for it.
Donald Trump screwed a lot of good people in Tampa. When he was given a chance to explain, he called us dirty rotten people.
Now that slime ball wants to be President, and the same moronic mindset that followed group think to pander for Obama is the same moronic mind set following group think to pander for Trump.
“Make America great again” is the same hope and changey rhetoric I saw nearly a decade ago; from the same ilk and the same corruption.
Only difference is that Trump brags about corrupting our systems. Screw that slime ball.
Having been a teacher, this is just about where most voters in America are able to more or less function - stuck on TV, cellphones or tablets, and unable to formulate a sentence or paragraph to save their souls. They haven't a clue as to what is actually happening but will when they are overtaken and enslaved or in camps, or just plain killed off by the invasion of communists/islamists happening slowly but surely. Oh, and don't forget their expensive satellite TV receivers that engross their daily lives like gloves!
He's not unintelligent. He simply has a limited perspective from years of bullying and buying, things that may make a good President in Russia, but not what we need right now. He's going to be another big government guy, and that's why I won't support him. We need somebody who will shrink government, and return power to the states. Donald Trump won't give up any amount of power to anybody. I'm not deviating from this position unless Trump starts to communicate clearly that I'm wrong, and since he speaks with the sentence structure of a 4th grader, I doubt that's going to happen.
So, basically, Trump is still talking way over the heads of the 47 percent we should be ignoring anyhow. That of course is a reference to the low information voter, A.K.A. the 47 percent, A.K.A. able-bodied, working age adults who receive government assistance, yet are allowed to vote, despite not financially supporting (while benefiting from) basic mandated Federal Government functions such as "provide for the common defence".
The speech that could be understood by all school grades is the greatest speech. So the socialist Bernie spoke the high frequency language that only communists understand. Very good report by the blaze and the Boston globe.
I'm not a big fan of Trump but I must disagree with you that "the article insinuates those who like Trump as stupid" or wants to "knock Trump from" anywhere.
Fisrt, education (especially American education these days) doesn't make people smarter.
Second, I don't think that Trump is using simple vocabulary because he doesn't know better. He uses words so all people, including non-native English speakers and those who were too busy working for their living and didn't have time for books, would understand him and would continue to put attention on his words.
Third, You should read Orwell's essay "Politics and the English Language" .George Orwell wrote this essay in 1946. As much as his books are becoming to look more and more as American reality, this essay is becoming more and more important. Donald Trump understands why it is important to use simple language. You, if you consider yourself as his supporter, should understand this also.
Perhaps we need to start American History and the Constitution in the 3rd grade, and not let it be taught by left leaning libs and progs.
They continue to act like they own the sole decision on who is 'conservative' enough - I'm tired of it and rarely visit this site anymore because of it. Glenn needs to realize that his personal war with Trump over not coming on his show is stupid. It makes him look moronic
I agree, and wish The Blaze would concentrate on fixing this website instead of knocking Trump!
Given the state of our fair Republic, he might need to bring it down a little if he really wants to communicate with the general public...Geez...
I wonder what the inventors of the study's score was. College level no doubt, along with Glenn Beck's.
You're wrong. The average American reads and understands at just under a 7th grade level, regardless of education level. One reason the NIV Bible was so successful is because it was written at a 7th grade reading level. Maybe one reason the better qualified candidates aren't resonating with the public is that they're talking over their heads.
What this is saying is that Trump (and the guy who just overtook him in the polls, Ben Carson) is talking so that the average guy can understand. Get over your persecution complex.
...based on this "hit" piece, I should vote for ......Bernie Sanders?
Again.....Not a Trump fan....but thats smart. Speak so most will understand what you are saying.
@johngaltdfw ----- They should be asked to analyze one of Beck's radio shows.
By the way, does anyone know whatever happened to that several million dollars that Beck raised to personally escort those illegal immigrants across the border? Just curious. .

Guns are not evil. They are merely tools.
Why are the leftists so offended by guns. Their biggest heroes loved guns… in their own hands but not the masses. Stalin, Mao, Castro, Che, Pol Pot…
I know the Jews with guns fight off hostile surrounding areas in Israel. I know Jews without guns went to Auschwitz and Dachau.
April 19, 2015 at 12:44am
If we had an informed electorate, Lindsay Graham would not be in office.
An informed electorate with a gun has more say than one without. Jews with guns protect Israel while surrounded by hostile countries. Jews without guns were marched to the likes of Auschwitz. There should be a lesson Lindsay!

It was an Admiral and he deserves a medal just for keeping that straight face. Yet, for a fraction of a second, you could see him close to laughing. I suspect the second he walked out of that room, he busted up very hard.
If he ever writes memoirs about the hardest thing he ever did while in the Navy, it will be he had to keep a straight face through that.

Isn’t this the same guy that said Guam might tip over? Why even give a fool a forum? At least preface it with… Let us warn you, this guy also thinks Guam is likely to tip over. I give him as much credibility as the guy who has been abducted by aliens.

Not sure why it is viral. I’ve seen the exact same letter off and on for 20 years. All she did was take a previous reject the rejection letter and tweak it. She may get tossed for plagiarism.
I think Walsh has mentioned this before, but this privilege is part of the control of America. Pols and business do not like the freedoms America provides because it limits them being in charge. So the onslaught includes 1. Global warming to limit our travel and comfort. 2. Taxes to limit people ability to get into the upper class where the rich and the pols are. They say “tax the rich”. But they exclude themselves!! 3. Education obviously to indoctrinate the children. And this is only on and for Americans.
March 16, 2015 at 9:06pm
The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Over the past 5 years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion. That is ‘‘trillion’’ with a ‘‘T.’’ That is money that we have borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, borrowed from China and Japan, borrowed from American taxpayers. And over the next 5 years, between now and 2011, the President’s budget will increase the debt by almost another $3.5 trillion.

This is a trojan horse. Pretty much all rifle rounds will penetrate a police bullet proof vest. This just opens the door to ban all rifle ammo. Rifle ammo is so called armor piercing and handguns are easy to conceal and commit crimes. They will attempt to ban both.
