  • Irony? Guy using his phone to mock people who use their phones.

Maybe this guy should mind his own business & stop taking pictures of strangers.

  • Some possibly good news out of Michigan (off topic)

Michigan’s Senate seat is now open. Carl Levin (D) will not be seeking re-election.
    - Michigan voted in a republican governor (blocked a referendum)
    - voted for Obama
    - voted in right to work
    - economy is looking better

I think name recognition had a lot to do with Levin winning. So, lets see what happens in Michigan.

  • I know they are the least of our problems but S.E. is making a good move.

Lets join with those who agree on the constitution, guns, free speech, spending control and hard work ethic. Lets also agree to “live and let live”.

You are correct, there was no ad-hominem attack in your post.

I don’t necessarily think his most devoted followers are extreme. I think of them as people begging for someone to speak for them during these odd times. Glenn is speaking for them, he is also giving them the next best thing. A way to take action.

At risk of proving your point – sure, many are stubborn. Every group has followers who prefer to close their minds in order to not be “proven wrong”. Sadly, close mindedness it is more common than not for now anyways.

Me, I just want a news show that just gives me different news and some clean programming/humor. I’ll take a shot. If he doesn’t work out, it can’t be any worse than The Bachelor.

Ad-homs aside, do you ever watch the “news” from CNN, HLN, ABC & FOX ? It is not news, its more entertainment than news. This morning I turned on Fox and they were discussing the Oscars, another day they had on cooking, time before that was the author of a book who has experienced heaven.

I also remember other mornings when all stations, ABC, FOX, HLN & CNN were all airing the exact same news coverage. You would see the same headlines no matter which channel you were on.

I may not agree with Glenn Beck on everything but I am not fool enough to limit my sources of information.

  • No way Jose. Dagny was definitely more libertarian than conservative in the book.

Ann was arguing against a group who wants less government, not progressives.

Also – Dagny had an affair with a married man. That puts her at odds with a social conservative like Ann.

  • Wisdom:

Well, locking them away in prison (or the threat) isn’t apparently working. I am sure we both could get our hands on some weed tonight if we wanted to. Maybe it’s time to treat marijuana abuse the same as other abuses – with treatment.

I know many who drink responsibly – and some who “smoke” responsibly (republicans, not libertarians). I also know those who are addicted to alcohol, weed, video games, food and TV. Each affect loved ones. Fathers cannot provide for a family if they are sent to prison – then can if they get treatment and keep their jobs.

I would rather pay to treat marijuana abusers & let them stay productive in society rather than just locking them away.

  • They are a rowdy crowd online but one you’ll never have to guess where they stand. Any party that ALWAYS stands for limiting government will have my vote.

  • Yes, what kind of sick person would want to twist one of the most beautiful words of the English language into something so ….. weak?

  • My suggestion is to put strict consequences in place for those who cause accidents while using.

That would allow many “safe” prisoners to get back out into society and start working again. (reducing our tax burden by housing them in jail). It would also save money at checkpoints and by not requiring helicopters to fly around searching for pot fields.
