  • “statically irrelevant,” Beck said.

While I wouldn’t put it past Glenn to actually say that, I think what he really said (or meant to say) is “statistically irrelevant”.

  • I don’t know these cops personally, no. But I know EXACTLY where this is.

  • I grew up in between Belton and Temple, TX (Address was in Temple, but went to Belton HS). I can tell you this is not surprising to me at all. The cops there are all “good ol` boys” and if you ain’t in, you ain’t nobody. They abuse their power over civilians ALL the time. They will make up laws and ignore others. If they can’t make one up, they will make up a false story. Lucky for me I never got officially arrested (clean record anyways), but was taken downtown plenty of times on trumped up BS. The “private conversation” this cop had with his superior was them strategizing on the right way to take him in while protecting themselves (“was your camera/mic on? If so let’s lose it”, etc).

The guy actually said it perfectly. They’re good guys unless you embarrass them. I’d add a few more though to form a list (piss them off, wrong place/time, they’re in a bad mood, or if they’re just bored.) This guy just didn’t play the game right.

This is typical of small town Texas. Gotta know somebody or be somebody or else you gotta pay.

I say these things with fact and no malice. I still live in Texas and love it.

I also welcome anybody to Texas as long as they leave their voting habits behind them. You’ve ruined your own lands! You won’t ruin mine!

  • For the gangnam style thing, i was almost… *allllmost* wondering if I was old or out of touch for not wanting to watch it or have anything to do with it. Then the Harlem Shake comes along and confirms that I was right to not want to have anything to do with these latest “viral trends”. Really, really, stupid.

  • I want to know why the guy said he was happy to be able to call his wife and kids… Why weren’t they with him? At least his wife… who goes on a cruise and leaves the wife and kids at home?

  • Uhm… something off about the angle of attack.

  • The teaser headline for this story is:

“Vulgar” Comic Takes CNN to New Low.

That needs to be fixed. It should be:

Vulgar “Comic” Takes CNN to New Low.

  • “Roger Williams is very famous in Rhode Island – no other state has a founder as tied up with the state’s identity as Rhode Island.”

Really? Unless his statement is specifically around the 13 original colonies/states, it’s quite a stupid statement. I wouldn’t be able to name Roger Williams until I read this article, complete with it’s BS about the separation of church and state being enshrined in the Bill of Rights. I’d wager a much greater number of people could name at least 2 founders of Texas vs 1 founder of any other state.

  • I’m so sick of the idea that “lynching” is a racist thing. I’m sure plenty of black people were lynched, sure. But people of all races were lynched as well. Yes, that includes whites.

This reminds me of Clerks 2 when Randall didn’t know that “Porch Monkey” was a racist term. Just like him, it wasn’t a racist term when I was growing up. They just found a way to make it racist to use against people that didn’t agree with their agenda and now they’re doing the same thing with the word “lynch”.

    We’re taking it back!

  • Caption that photo!: Paul Ryan

Not sure why there are two ways to “caption that photo”, but here’s mine again:

This steaming pile is lasagna. You don‘t want to eat that steaming pile that Obama’s serving you.
