Or they deserve to be born all malnourished and with patent physical or brain defects. I have been reading the comments and have yet to hear an acknowledgment of medically necessitated abortions either due to substantial defects or heightened risk to the mothers life. They are a reality, as inconvenient as that may be to your narrative. My attitude towards voluntary abortions is that I won’t be having one because I’m a dude. I do, however, believe that women have to live with the decisions they make, and therefore should not have the state preempt their right to make their own decisions about their own futures by checking the box “no”. There is a balancing of the more senior human rights of the mother against the nacent, dependent human rights of the child. There should also be a reasonable cutoff point at which women lose the right to electively abort- the time should, again, represent a *balance* stricken between the physical viability of the fetus and the time it takes to realize you are pregnant if you weren’t expecting or trying to become pregnant and many other perfectly legitimate factors. God says so is not compelling to me.
