  No wonder there was nobody paying any attention to the graduation. Folks wandering around everywhere and even playing some kind of catch in the background. Don’t blame ‘em.   Can’t tell from this report about all the facts of this incident, but here’s what I suspect. I base this on 28 years in the public schools, followed by 3 years of substitute teaching in another state, and having a son who is a teachers’ aide at this time. First, this student is no lady, if the middle finger incident did take place. Second, it’s very probable that students such as this young girl were being very disruptive of the educational process and the teachers’ aide lost his composure. Although you can’t tell from the video, and there is nothing in the report to verify this, perhaps the aide was attacked first! Students have been known to strike adults in the schools, thinking they can get away with it because they are minors. I’m not defending the teachers’ aide, but such incidents in today’s schools are not uncommon, and need to be viewed with careful consideration.

  Folks, many of our public schools have become zoos with the monkeys in charge. Lack of discipline, due largely to lack of respect and common courtesy is the rule rather than the exception. Learning cannot take place in such an atmosphere, yet we find everyone to blame except the ones behaving like thugs and anarchists. I’m not saying there aren’t lousy teachers out there fomenting disrespectful behavior, but there is little reward for the exemplary educators who must deal with near anarchy every day in their classrooms.

  With all due respect to the Congresswoman, there were those who were KILLED in that incident that perhaps should be honored before a surviving politician. Christina-Taylor Green, a 9 year old girl who was born on Sept. 11 2001 and died in the gunfire which Gifford survived; what of her honor? Oh. I forget. She wasn’t “famous.” She was married to an astronaut. She wasn’t one who walked the hall of our hallowed Congress. She was just a 9 year old who few even remember………………..
