The setup for the shot is so much like the quintessentially American Norman Rockwell painting…then you see the Soviet posters in back
It’s a jarringly bizarre juxtapostion. BTW, anytime you can work the word ‘juxtaposition’ into a sentence, it’s a good day!

OK, so this story looks like a waste of space; just another frivolous lawsuit by a seriously paranoid individual. That said, if Kraft is messing with it’s Mac and Cheese…that is SERIOUS!
In college in the late 70′s, Kraft Mac dinners were a staple for many students like myself. It was often on sale for 25 cents a box. We’d take a box, throw any kind of meat and occasionally veggie in there with it, and that was dinner (my friend Pete called it “Glop” .

It is indeed beautiful and moving. For years it was just another Christmas carol to me. When I heard people sing it I was paying more attention to whether they could hit the high note at the end. She sings it as if she were there.
So WHY would they inject the producer talking right into the finale? That is jarring!

This looks to me like an excellent time for insurance companies (and conservative pols) to demonstrate how the free market could lower costs. If enough new customers step up to buy insurance, it can lower costs of insurance due to the larger pool. Politicians contribute by getting out of the way.

Hmmph…not the first time I’ve seen the Bride get lit. Usually it’s at the reception, though.

I believe that the issue of gay marriage is just another front in the Culture War. Homosexuals are being used as a way to tear down more of the moral fabric of this nation. Justice Scalia noted in his dissent that Kennedy’s statement made all those against gay marriage out to be bigots, degrading and dehumanizing other people. Nowadays that means ‘subject to lawsuit’ unless you conform to the progressive definitions of right and wrong.
Churches must get ready. Lawsuits will be filed against clergy that refuse to perform same sex marriages. Unless something is done, and quickly, churches will have to compromise their beliefs or go bankrupt.

nice job, Tina! I love how she looked kind of bored – even looked around a little while she was arpeggiating (finally got to use that word in a sentence)!
Now about you haters: it kills me that some people have to try and feed their egos by tearing someone else down. She’s 14 and has clearly put thousands of hours into learning to play the guitar. That kind of commitment is amazing and commendable. No matter what she chooses to do in life, if she applies that kind of dedication to it, she will be tremendously successful person and one I’d like to know.

I can’t speak for the whole country or every industry, but from my experience, the idea that Mexicans somehow get paid less is a myth. Here in Austin, Mexican laborers make full wages. A trustworthy, hard-working individual is at a premium, and they get the same wages as anyone else. I had a landscaping company – we would have loved to hire strictly American but the production was just not there. It had nothing to do with skin color, it was their background. Businesses save a certain amount on employment taxes that they may not pay but that is fraught with the danger of an audit. I’m in the camp where I respect someone that comes here in order to support their family; I would do the same. Many if not most, don’t really care about being American citizens, they love Mexico and would move back in a heartbeat if they could make a living.
The border must be secured, because of the others coming across.

Time to fortify my American History on this topic. I never gave the War of 1812 much attention.

Republicans can, indeed, be that stupid, Mr. Root. Democrats own the Narrative and have the means to perpetuate their side of the story, regardless of the truth. Republicans are completely inept at presenting arguments in a way that the average American will embrace, if they ever get the opportunity to get the average American ear.

Ironically, the KKK was behind the first attempts at gun control; they wanted to keep black Americans unarmed and defenseless. The NRA was formed to resist the KKK’s attempts to keep guns out of the hands of black Americans.
