She knew what she was getting into when she voluntarily decided to attend Grace University. The university was gracious enough to attempt reinstatement through spiritual counseling instead of outright expulsion. There are consequences to your actions.

The only biblical experts worth noting are those who have the Holy Spirit living within them and who believe Scripture. How do I know that these “experts” don’t? Because no one who believes in Scripture would advocate “the notion that ancient texts should not dedicate modern moral standards.” Scripture (properly understood) is transcendant of time, geography and culture.

They would also know that Scripture is a progressive revelation (See Jesus’ discussion of marriage with the Sadducees.) God had to bring humanity slowly in line with His ultimate moral guidelines, therefore, most of the OT is dated and has been superseded by the NT. You’ll note that all of the biblical references these “experts” use are OT references, except the one on celebacy, which is really irrelevant to the marriage question. It is these “experts” who suffer from “a lack of biblical literacy.”

If a small community is forced to rely on revenue from speeding tickets to fund their government, then it’s time to dissolve their charter and move on. Enforcement of speed limit laws have stopped being about safety long ago; they are all about revenue, and people will not tolerate the anal enforcement of such trivial laws.

As far as I’m concerned, speed limit laws should not be enforced until the situation reaches the point of reckless driving (which is defined as about 20+ mph above the limit.) Speed doesn’t kill. Speed differential kills.
