  No it wouldn’t be treated as comical. He would say it was his religious duty and all would be well. “Honor killings and beatings” go on without punishment on a regular basis. This guy got a little more than he deserved, but it will all balance out, he can still kiss his girlfriend — and is guaranteed safe sex.
